So while at the Veterans Cemetery my 7 year old niece asked my brother if we could stop for a second because she wanted to pray for the fallen solders. A lady that over heard her walked up and started in on how there was no God, and that we should not be encouraging her to pray, leaving my niece in tears.
I rolled over to where the lady was with her kids, and said, I sure hope you do not encourage your kids to write to Santa to tell him what they want for Christmas, because we all know there is no Santa and it is you buying their gifts, and rolled away.
The Lady followed me and started in on how it was not my place to tell her kids there is no Santa, and I retorted with it was not her place to tell my niece there is no God. She said God and Santa are two different things.
Should an Atheist that tells a 7 year old there is no God be upset that someone told their kids there is no Santa? |
