I'm quitting my current job and plan to leave on Jan 27th, but I haven't given formal notice yet.
Given that I've worked here for nearly 7-years and that I genuinely like and respect my coworkers/managers, I feel like giving 2 weeks isn't enough (even though it's "standard") because backfilling/reprioritizing/rescheduling my responsibilities will not be terribly easy.
Question is, how much notice is appropriate...?
Here are the two options I'm toying with in my mind:
1) Give notice this week before I go on holiday PTO
2) Give notice when I come back from the holiday PTO on Jan 3rd
PS: Even if they were to immediately "fire" me, I wouldn't care as I can easily accelerate my timetable for moving and starting my new job. |
