here's what happened
left Bodmin parkway at about 10.15 ,train journey up to London was ok met a couple (Andy and his misses) on the train sat opposite us who were also going to see ozzy so we chatted to them. We arrived in Paddington about 2 ish we then had to get tickets for the underground so we lost contact with Andy and his misses.
Robbie and i then got on the tube only to find out that the train we were on terminated 4 stops away from were we wanted to go so we had to catch the next train wasn't too bad my mistake should of checked the destination. got to the station and took the short walk to the hotel and spoke too another couple who were going as well. booked into the room which was very nice indeed and only 300yards from the Wembley arena .after checking out the room we went to the bar for a well deserved drink. after a few pint who do we bump into checking in but Andy ,his misses and the other couple who's names I've forgotten. so we had a few more beers well i did Robbie's only 14 so he had to make do with coke. then we went and grabbed a bite to eat and to order room service for after the gig, quick shower later and we set off for the gig.
first up were a band called headspace who weren't bad.
then black label society what can i say bloody fantastic amazing.
then after some hilarious intro clips came the prince of darkness himself OZZY. totally mind blowing .best gig I've been to in years what a showman. he got the crowd involved with sing alongs and banter and Zakk wildes guitar solo was truly great. remember this guy had already done a set with BLS before coming on with Ozzy. 3 encores, mama I'm coming home, crazy train and he saved the best till last paranoid we went mental. He left the stage to a standing ovation and chants of ozzy, ozzy .
we left the arena and headed back to the hotel both of us were buzzing and voiceless (too much shouting and singing) back to the bar for some more beer and my voice came back Robbie went back to the room for his food while i stayed in the bar chatting to other gig goers after his food Robbie joined us back in the bar and joined us chatting .Bar closed at 2 a.m and we went to bed.
then at about 3.45 ish the hotel fire alarm went off now I've had a bit to drink and was woken with a jolt, Christ it was loud so we had to evacuate the hotel . Robbie managed to quickly slip his jeans on but me being a bit drunk still I left the room in just my boxers, socks and vest top. I didn't care just as long as we were ok. got out safely to find out after the building was checked by the fire brigade that it was a false alarm .so we were allowed back in, but i had left the door key card in the room and couldn't get back in so we had to wait for someone to come along with the master key least we saw the funny side of it.
went back to sleep and caught the train back the next day. still on a high and laughing about the fire alarm.
best 2 days away I've ever had and its a trip I'll never forget and neither will Robbie.
