I need to share a short story of the love I have for my son and the love he has for me. He was about seven years old and his mother took him father's day shopping to get me a gift. They came home and I saw tears in his eyes as he ran off to his room. I asked my wife what had happened. She explained he couldn't find anything he thought I would like. I went up to his room and sat down on the corner of the bed as he wept and just talked to him. I explained the greatest gift someone can ever share is from their heart. Most gifts I explained only last for a few months than just seem to go away. But a hand made or written gift from the heart will last a life time. On father's day he proudly gave me a small box all wrapped up. He had painted a picture of the sunset over the ocean on a sheet of cardboard with his hand written message simply saying, "To the best dad in the whole world. I love you forever. Kacey."
The look I gave him as tears rolled down my face was a feeling that will never go away. He gave me a great big hug and the look in his eyes at my joy and happiness. To this day, this now framed picture still hangs in my room. A moment of love I will never forget and cherish for the rest of my life.
My point being. The greatest gifts come from the heart not the wallet!
