After "Doc" had his breakout season in 2002 with 19 victories he followed it up with 22 wins in 2003. Then, 2004 happened. In that year, Halladay came down with what was described as a tired arm or shoulder fatigue. He went 8-8 with a 4.20 earned run average. In those two great years of 2002 and 2003 Halladay threw 239.1 innings and then 266. In 2004 "tired arm" Now consider Ricky. The last two years hes thrown 210 and 225 innings and went 15-11 with a 2.92 earned run average last season, his best to date. This year something is wrong. The Jays seem to be saying its strictly mechanical and maybe it is, but maybe its just the number of innings thrown over the past two seasons. Pitchers have peaks and valleys.
