Ok so I admit that I am a bit of a Germaphobe, I am the type of person who washes his hands before eating or preparing food and I ALWAYS wash my hands after going to the bathroom. I guess spending 15 years of your life with a Registered Nurse as your wife could have some positive effects on your hygiene. Now I know what Most of you hoytie-toytie people are thinking, you¡¦re thinking well I wash my hands after using the bathroom too¡K Fact of the matter is that more than 60% of Americans don¡¦t wash their hands after using the bathroom and running your hands under water for 2 seconds doesn¡¦t constitute for a thorough cleaning either. Aaannny-who the reason I am writing this blog is because I was at our local DMV the other day and went into the public restroom and As I walked in There was a man walking out of one of the ¡§sit down¡¨ stalls. It was obvious what he was doing in there because of the extremely foul odor that was lingering throughout the bathroom. He proceeded to walk right past me and slipped out the door. So as I stood there ¡§holding my own¡¨ I began to think about how disgusting it was that he didn¡¦t wash his hands¡K I mean who knows he could have fallen victim to the inferior wad of toilet tissue, I know you all know what I¡¦m talking about because it has happened to all of us at one point in time where you simply break through the layers of tissue and your finger goes knuckle deep in your ass. Now for instance this man goes to the cashier and buys a chocolate bar with a dollar bill and you happen to be next in line, with your change comes this dollar bill from the poopy finger man, that doesn¡¦t sit well does it? Ok scenario 2 : this man is your father or your grandfather or some other member of your family and he wants to break you off a piece of his treat and You willing accept this piece of caca-bar and eat it blind to the fact that he doesn¡¦t wash his hands after going #2. Now there are two of us that are victim to this man not washing his hands ƒ¼ any way you get my point and where I am going with this whole topic so please remember to wash your hands after using the bathroom. Below are some research statistics that I thought I might share to help better educate you.
Now I know that some of these statistics are against your better judgment and against the rules of what your parents have taught you since birth but these are facts from real scientists and real studies that have been conducted over decades.
First, and most obvious: ¡§Wash your hands when they are dirty and before eating.¡¨
Second: ¡§Do not cough into your hands.¡¨
Third: ¡§Do not sneeze into your hands.¡¨
Fourth:" Above all, do not put your fingers into your eyes, nose or mouth.¡¨
This last principal, Dr. Sawyer says, is the most important in terms of disease prevention. Placing one¡¦s fingers into the mucus membranes of the eyes, nose, or mouth can easily lead to self-inoculation with bacteria such as strep (common in preschool, middle school and high school students) as well as viruses such as the common cold, pink eye and various flu-like viruses.
