I will award 50 credits to the winner, 30 credits to 2nd place, and 20 credits to 3rd. 

Aside from bragging rights, and credit prizes. Your bracket goes in the official NHL challenge which is ofers winners a trip to Vegas, a bubbletop Hockey game, or NHL gift cards. (If you are in multiple leagues, the 1st league you make a bracket for is the one used for the official NHL one.

Brackets will open for selection no later than 2AM EDT on 4/9 after the wild cards are determined this weekend. Brackets lock at 6:59PM EDT on 4/11 

Since my last scavenger hunt was such a success I have decided to have some fun with a second one. 

Every week until xmas  I will post clues to 3 items, The 1st clues will be given out on Friday and a 2nd clue for each item will be given out the follwong Monday. Your job is to figure out the item and create a salute with that item in it somewhere, Since it is a salute you must be in the shot of course and my screen name must also be in the physical shot (ie not shopped into it or digitally captioned).

Each week the point values will double. (1st week=1, 2nd=2, 3rd=4, 4th=8)

Points awarded: 1 point unit for having the 1st correct answer,

                        1 point unit for having a correct answer before the 2nd clue,,

                        1 point unit for a correct entry before the answers are revealed with the next week's clues

                        1 point unit for best correct entry as judged by me.

                        1 point unit for correct entry that draws the most spectator support.

                        Up to i point unit per every 3 entries as merit points (note that these may be fractional values if need be, and may be awarded to incorrect entries that were creatively meritorious ) 

Late entries:  contestants who join the game late may submit correct entries from previous weeks for half a point unit, and may be eligible for half a point unit of merit if it creates a new unit. 

Multiple entries; allowed and encouraged  but only one will get points for being correct. They do however count as an entry towards the merit pool, and may each get points out of that pool. 

Entries should be sent directly to me and not posted in your own folder (you don't want to be giving the answers away) if you don't have my text number you can email silveroak23@gmail.com or fumail a link to an external hosting service, skype send, dropbox box, etc)

Thesubject line or filename of your entry should be labeled with the week and item number and the name of the item. While there is no harm in having the other items in the shot, each item has to have its own entry, in other words if you have items a and b in the shot, you must pick which item you are getting credit for, and take another shot of them that differs at least slightly to submit for credit for the other item.

Once the answer is revealed you may post outtakes on your own page if you wish, but I request that your official entries not be until after the contest itself ends. 

As always, you may also request that I use a placeholder for any entry if you have any privacy concerns.

The judge (me) may be bribed for additional  clues but will not confirm or deny that your answer is correct. The emphasis here is on creativity 

The prizes: 

The Grand prize will be a HH with 2 SAs or the equivalent (winner pays futaxes if direct credits are chosen)

2nd place will be a HH or equivalent

There will be other prizes for things like most correct entries, best overall entry, spectator support, further place tiers depending on participation levels. Every single entrant will win something

Item 3 Clue 1:  Whether you find me dim and sinister, bright and festive, or soft and romantic, I am still the standard by which others                          are measured.

Week 1 will stay open until Monday so that any latecomers can get in the game.

I am trying to simultaneously perform both my remaing level requirements Monday at 2 PM PST which are a HH and getting 1000 likes in a day. The second part will be the challenge since I generally get 15 likes a day. It took 4  rockstars and a few mumms to get the 500 in a day badge last time there was a level requirement, Any help drumming up likes  Monday would be appreciated. 

I am having a little Halloween themed salute contest. The only rules are  that your entry has to include my screenname in the physical shot (ie not shopped in or captioned in) and that it must costued or tied into Halloween in some way. 

You may put your entry in a custom folder or you may email it to me (I will provide the email addy privately upon request). It must be in by this weekend (10/26 10/27) **EDIT: DEADLINE EXTENDED TO THE END OF 10/28 PDT**

If for any reason you wish your entry to be anonymous (posted but not named) or non public, please specify that when you submit your entry and your request will be honored although I recommend you have at least one published for the people's choice prize.

Speaking of people's chpice, there will be a HH awarded to the entry with thr most rates, with the rating average and comment count  being used to break a tie.  (

The grand prize is a Godmode and suite of Halloween blings for the one I judge the best overall, There will be prizes by merit  for various categories, the size and number of which will be determined by the number of contestants and the level of excellence to whoch the entries are taken. Examples include creatitivity, percevided effort, spookiness, originality. I have to leave a little mystery and X factor in the game since it is what Halloween is all about after all (e)

Everyone who enters within the guidelines will be given a prize from the trick or treat bag. 

Decisions will be made on 10/31 and prizes awarded very shortly thereafter. 

My friend has running a Cherry Bomb as a requirement for his next level, so I am holding a benefit raffle. 

Tickets are one credit each and when 60 tickets are sold I will draw a winner for a Cherry Bomb. (the rest will be for his CB.)

If the number of tickets exceeds 60 while I am away at work or sleep, then I will draw a second winner for a bling equal to the amount of credits over 60 the raffle has gone. 

The drawing will be held using a random generator and will be conducted live to vouch for the validity of the results. 

The last one I saw of these a couple of years ago was a lot of fun so I thought I would have a crack at it. For the next four weeks I will be running a Scavenger Hunt Salute contest. You must have me listed as a friend to enter. Just send a request if you aren't already listed. 

How it works:

Each week for the next 4 weeks I will post clues to the 3 items of the week with the clues getting progressively harder each week(and more point value). One on Fridays and a second one on Mondays. When you figure out the item make a salute with that item in the shot and "SilverOak" handwritten somewhere in the shot. Be creative and have fun with it. Email the salute to silveroak23@gmail.com with your screen name and the item name and number in the subject. (eg If the 1st item in week 1 was a pickle you would put "Your SN week 1 item 1 Pickle" You have until the following week's clues are given to submit your response. No penalty for wrong guesses so when in doubt feel free to send multiple guesses. Multiple correct entires are allowed to try to increase your chance of a bonus but one one submission will be worth points. 

I will post the pics in a folder with the number of points awarded. If for some reason you don't want a particular photo posted, let me know and I will put up a placeholder graphic instead. 

Bonus points awarded for: ~Being the 1st correct answer. ~Submitting a correct answer before the 2nd clue. ~Judge's choice for going above and beyond with an impressive submission. 

Do NOT upload your entries onto fubar before the answers are revealed.  If you post your pics, then you run the risk of someone who hasn't figured out the clue drafting off your hard work. 

At the end of the contest the person with the most points will win a Godmode, maybe more if participation and creativity is high. Smaller prizes will be awarded to runners up and everyone who plays will get something. Mystery bonuses will be awarded for the overall contest. 

You may bribe the judge for hints. I won't outright  tell you the item but I will try to steer you in the right direction. 

Late comers are welcome and could in fact still win since the point values increase towards the end. 

Feel free to ask questions if anything is not clear. 

The 1st week items are worth 1 point for correct answers and the bonuses will be in 1 point increments.

The points are bigger this week so catching up is easy to do.  Late submissions for weeks one and two can get half credit. 

Everyone did an excellent job and it was neck to neck. In the end, gemtaur blew away the support portion not only with the rates but with putting the contest in a blast. That put her over the edge for the victory. All others will get their choice of 2 boomers or an auto, or a cherry bomb. Thank you for participating and for makng it a lot of fun.  I may do another one in the future based on how fun it was.
