I have always been free.
These prison walls,
the boundaries of your
captivity.
You fed the soil with my black blood.
With my black bones you ploughed the earth.
And now you say you never meant to hurt me,
never doubted my worth???
Well, I will not forgive, nor will I forget.
But we must live together, or die foolishly,
and so,,,
I offer you my hand, if not in friendship,
then in hope that your words are worth more
than your history.
