"For Safe Keeping"
I give to you my heart.
please protect it and keep it safe,
do not damage it
do not crush it
do not cause it pain.
It is the only one I have
and it has been broken before.
Each time you let yourself love someone
your heart grows and grows
and soon your heart is very big
but with tears and mends
from all the years!
Past hurts can be felt again
when reminded from the heart
so Please take very good care of mine
please do not cause it pain
Please protect it .. and hold it close
keep it next to yours
for I believe if you safe guard yours
mine will be safe too!!!!!
Hearts are a fragile thing
and people are afraid to let you in
too many hurts .. too much pain
but the heart is where the love is ....
if we don't let people in ...
they can not see the love we hold
within our very souls
So .. although love is risky
and it could cause us pain
our hearts will stay small and cold
if we don't let people in !!!!!
So open up your heart ..
trust someone near
Let them know how much you care
by showing them your love!
