Ok the cool peeps at the request lounge are having some tech issues so this is for them.
Requirements (aside from your computer and an internet connection.
1. Winamp 5.x (http://www.winamp.com/player/free.php)
2. Shoutcast Plugins ( http://www.shoutcast.com/downloads/shoutcast-dsp-1-9-0-windows.exe)
3. Shoutcast Server (http://www.shoutcast.com/download/license.phtml)
1. Install winamp, following the onscreen instructions. Then run it once and play an mp3 to make sure it's running properly.
2. Then install the Shoutcast DSP plugin for winamp, as well as the Server, these both come with basic on screen instructions.
3. Restart Winamp (this is important)
4. Go to you Shoutcast folder and open the file sc_serv.cfg make sure to change the Passwords (2 of them) you may also want to change the lines PublicServer= to Always, and AllowPublicRelay= to yes
5. Save and close the config file. Then run sc_serv.exe
6. go back to winamp, press CTRL+P to bring up preferences window. Under plugins in the right tree menu, select DSP/Effect and double click on the shoutcast DSP source plugin on the right.
7. go to the last tab "input" and change the input device to your sound card. If you're currently playing a track BOTH green bars should be moving.
8. now goto the encoder tab, your encoder setting should NOT be more then 48kbs 22.050hrz, Stereo. (by more I mean lower in the list) This is approximately FM radio quality, on most computers its the best bet, good quality for the amount of bandwidth you use...
9. goto the output tab put your ip address in the appropriate box, and change the password to what you set it too. (the first one) then click the big connect button.
10. If you switch to your shoutcast server window you should notice some connection information if not you did something wrong and should message me.
