quote:Indeed we must *go with the flow* of Life, but not life as we are conditioned to perceive it. Life has an agenda all of its own, and we ARE life so we should indeed Realize that we are as much that agenda as the bird or the tree or the Legless Frog. But we are conditioned to project our likes and dislikes into/onto that life, that agenda, re-defining that Natural agenda as our own. Our own, the Grand Trickster's, agenda is not the agenda of the manifested realm. That is why we are always in conflict with both nature and each other. We conditioned programmed automatons set up our own agendas and are conditioned to *believe* it is everything else's, so we are always at odds with everyone and everything.
Ah, but we must face the storms face to face toe to toe and battle it out. We can not glean the Rainbow unless we can weather the storm. We can not start Awakening unless we can let go of the Causes of our Suffering. The storms are none other than our conditioned ideas and images and meaning clouding our Way. What we must Observe, is ourselves. We must Observe our thinking and our behavior, our actions and our reactions and responses. We must Observe every detail of ourselves so that we may see the defiling Veils to our Awakening AND wrench those Veils out by their roots. It may sound a bit violent in the destruction of the Causes of our Suffering, but not as violent as the Causes that keep us Suffering. For those Causes, those conditioned perceptions, are the basis of war and conflict and strife and Suffering and the devastation of the planet, told and untold as well and seen and unseen.
It does take time, and it does take NOT following the thoughts as they arise. When we sit in Silence and block out that which is outside us, dwelling Within, many thoughts will arise. Take a non-committed stance on the thoughts and simply watch them come and go. That is, as they arise do not think about them, recognize that they have arisen and continue concentration on the Silence. See that they are there, but then turn away from them, contribute no thought or energy to them. It is sometimes helpful to concentrate on an image to focus concentration so that arising thoughts are of no consequence. They will never get tired of pestering you, but you will Realize much Peace by being stronger than they are. And eventually they will not arise at all (perhaps out of shame for not distracting you).
