Chrisley on his company's approach to social network development: "Social Networks are supposed to be an escape to discover new people, new things, and the best of the web. You can call yourself whatever you want and be whoever you want. Social networks are not supposed to be a boring line at a Starbucks location with a government agent posting your real name on a name tag and making you wear it while you wait for your promised social latte. Expansion, creativity, and freedom can only be realized and exercised on a social network that respects your privacy and your individuality. People may flock to Facebook and Twitter, but those sites are definitely not what real social media is all about."
An odd statement in contrast to the concept of privacy that has been an on-going major issue concerning social media security. New social networks Diaspora and Ello are trying to reinvent the Facebook wheel which is probably why they are not fairing well either.
Perhaps Chrisley's statement rings true which maybe why older social networks like Fubar.com and Tagged continue to enjoy an established membership and success allowing its users more creative flexability than Facebook.
