FIRE IN HER EYES
There was fire in her eyes,
and there was a flame of desire
that kept rising higher and higher.
I saw her in the night;
This lady of sheer delights
that caught my eye,
and I couldn't help but wonder why
she was in this place,
for I had come looking for a lady
in leather and lace
to tell her the truth in the Lord
to live with him in full accord.
There was fire in her eyes,
and she sought for something
she could not attain,
but yet kept calling on the Lord's name.
I saw her standing in this place
as I looked upon her face,
and thought she could be so much more,
and I saw her once again
living this life of sin,
but wanting to live a life today,
where she could walk the narrow way.
There was fire in her eyes,
but she was in disguise,
but the fire still remains,
and she is still the same,
for she seeks to know him better,
for he gave his word to us all in a letter.
She stood closer to the Lord in the night
as she began to embrace his eternal light,
and threw off the shackles
with which she had been bound,
and the Lord set her free,
and gave her sweet serenity.
There was fire in her eyes
as she lived in full accord
with the will of the Lord,
and as she looked up in the skies,
for she was the lady with fire in her eyes.
