DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies didnt let two more injuries interfere with their best homestand in nearly three months. Youth Joe Flacco Jersey . Jordan Pacheco homered among his three hits as the banged-up Rockies slowed down Giancarlo Stanton and beat the Miami Marlins 3-2 Sunday. Colorado, employing mostly young players, finished the homestand 5-2, their best since going 6-1 in May 28-June 3. "They want to win," outfielder Dexter Fowler said. "Even though theyre young theyre learning and going out and playing hard." The young players have been forced into service due to a rash of injuries that have hit the club, including two more Sunday. Rockies outfielder Eric Young Jr. left after one inning with a strain in his left ribcage and shortstop Josh Rutledge exited in the fifth with tightness in his left thigh. Before the game, Colorado put outfielder Michael Cuddyer back on the 15-day disabled list after he aggravated a right oblique strain in Saturdays loss. "Theres nothing you can do about other people getting hurt," pitcher Adam Ottavino said. "When you come into a tough spot all you can do is just keep playing. Thats all were trying to do." Young said after the game the injury wasnt serious and he would miss one or two games. Colorado plays the Mets in New York on Monday. The Rockies overcame some close calls as well. Emilio Bonifacio was called safe at first on a grounder to shortstop to lead off the game. Rockies manager Jim Tracy argued that first baseman Tyler Colvin kept his foot on the bag. In the eighth, Colvin was called out on a close play at home, bringing Tracy out again. "There were a few questionable calls today, one of which cost a run on the very first play of the game," Tracy said. "I dont have a comment beyond that." Stanton went homerless for the first time in seven games at Coors Field. On Saturday night, he became the first player in big league history to homer in his first six games in a particular park, the Marlins said in citing the Elias Sports Bureau. Stanton drew two intentional walks and went 0 for 2 in the series finale. "They had a smart strategy," Miami manager Ozzie Guillen said. "A couple of times they didnt pitch to him and did a great job on him." John Buck homered for the Marlins. Ottavino (5-1) tossed three scoreless innings for the win and Rafael Betancourt pitched the ninth for his 23rd save. Josh Johnson (7-10) lost his third consecutive start. He gave up three runs and seven hits in seven innings. "You have to give these young kids a lot of credit," Tracy said. "I dont know how many we had on the field today who didnt have any idea who Josh Johnson was let alone take an at-bat against him." Colorado looked overmatched early by Johnson but broke through in the fourth. Rutledge reached on an infield hit -- Colorados first of the game -- and scored on Dexter Fowlers double. Two outs later Pacheco homered to left to give the Rockies a 3-2 lead. It was his second of the year and first since May 17, a span of 279 at-bats. "Hes pitching well, but we got some good pitches to hit and did something with them," Fowler said. Rockies starter Drew Pomeranz allowed two runs on three hits and four walks in four innings. The key player in the trade that sent Ubaldo Jimenez to Cleveland last season, Pomeranz is 1-7 and has failed to pitch more than four innings in each of his last four starts. The Marlins got to him early, scoring an unearned run in the first. Bonifacio, who reached on Rutledges throwing error, scored on Carlos Lees groundout. Pomeranz intentionally walked Stanton to load the bases before Buck grounded out to end the threat. "It made sense," Stanton said. "There was an open base. Donnie Murphy has been out for a while. Why not give it a chance?" Buck led off the fourth with his ninth home run to make it 2-0. Ottavino shut down the Marlins on one hit in three innings. He worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth and retired the final eight batters he faced. The Marlins stranded nine runners. "We had a chance to open this game up," Guillen said. "We left a lot of guys out there and couldnt get the game to the bullpen." NOTES: Fowler hit safely in five of the six games he played on the homestand. ... The Marlins activated Bonifacio and Murphy from the 15-day DL. ... Pacheco has six three-hit games this season. ... Buck has a six-game hitting streak at Coors Field, dating back to June 13, 2010. Cary Williams Jersey . Soon after, Scott Feldman made a strong case for himself. Feldman, starting after Roy Oswalt was scratched with back tightness, threw seven strong innings to lead the Rangers to a 9-1 victory over the Red Sox. "Tremendous outing," Texas manager Ron Washington said. Ravens Ray Rice Jersey . Stamps suffered a ruptured testicle in a game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Aug. 5 required surgery to remove it. However, he only missed three games and not only finished the season but registered his third straight 1,000-yard receiving campaign. http://www.nflravensgearshop.com/haloti-ngata-jersey/ . Cody Allen, another rookie, allowed a tiebreaking, two-run homer to Nick Swisher in the seventh inning giving New York a 3-1 victory Friday night. Joe Flacco Jersey . In exchange, the Riders sent the Argos a conditional selection in the 2014 CFL Canadian Draft. The six-foot-five, 303-pound Patrick started 10 games at right tackle for the Edmonton Eskimos last season, along with appearances in the West semifinal and final. Black Torrey Smith Jersey . An MRI performed Tuesday in Phoenix revealed the tear. Blanco was injured Sunday in a game at Philadelphia when the Phillies John Mayberry slid into his mitt at home plate. Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said before Tuesday nights game at Pittsburgh that he did not have a timetable for Blancos return but conceded he might not return this season.HALLE, Germany -- Wild card Tommy Haas defeated five-time winner Roger Federer 7-6 (5), 6-4 on Sunday to win the Gerry Weber Open for the second time. It was Federers first loss to a German since Nicolas Kiefers semifinal win, also in Halle, 10 years ago. "If someone had told me beforehand that Id win the title here against probably the greatest player of all time I would not have believed it," said Haas, a former second-ranked player whose career has been blighted by injuries. Now ranked 87th, Haas was the oldest player in the singles draw at 34. He recovered from losing his serve in the opening game of the match, and broke decisively in the ninth game of the second set. "Im very impressed with how he played today," Federer said. "Tommy deserved to win." The second-seeded Federer was bidding for his fifth tour title of the season and 75th overall. It was Haas first win over his good friend in 10 attempts, and his third overall against the 16-time Grand Slam champion from 13 meetings. "It was a long time coming since I had the chance to get to that point," said Haas, who started the season outside the top 200. "Its my 13th title ... Its probably up there (as the best), if not the sweetest one, especially considering the injuries." Haas broke to lead 5-4 after a lengthy rally featuring lobs, chips and a drop shot, following two unforced errors in succession from Federer that allowed him to force deuce. Haas last won the grass-court tournament in 2009, beating Novak Djokovic in the final. He hadnt appeared in a final since then, so nerves perhaps playedd a role in his loss of serve in the first game. Authentic Haloti Ngata Jersey. Both players had only been broken once this week. Federer missed another break point in the fifth game to leave the score at 3-2. Haas levelled by breaking in the next after Federer uncharacteristically hit a simple return into the net. Haas missed two break chances with the score at 5-4 to win the set, sending a return long and not dealing with another. Federer eventually won the game with his fifth ace to level at 5-5. "I should never have lost the first set, so that hurt. He got momentum after that," Federer said. The Swiss managed a mini-break in the tiebreaker on Haas first serve, but the German came back to establish a 4-2 lead. A fan of Haas called for him to fire an ace, and there was a huge roar from the crowd when he duly obliged to move the score to 5-3. Another mini-break put the German in a position to win the set, and he didnt let it slip. "If I thought about it, this would be the perfect way to say goodbye to tennis. Beating Roger, my 13th title. It would be perfect. But Im not ready mentally," Haas said. "I hope the body holds up for many years to go. I love to play." It was the first final in the 20-year history of the tournament to feature two players aged 30 or older. "Im just really happy for him ... happy that hes been able to fight off so many injuries and come back and still believe in himself, still want to travel, still want to sacrifice his family (life) too," said the 30-year-old Federer. Federers only previous Halle final loss was in 2010 to Lleyton Hewitt. ' ' '
