We took the kids to the park today; really the only kid we were worried about was the child I'm 1:1 with, since disruptions in routine and the unknown cause meltdowns. Another teacher and I raided ours and the therapists' rooms to find things to keep him occupied. I stocked up with a puzzle, small blocks and a bunch of other small things and chips and m&m's. But he surprised us all and was pretty much fine. The first five or ten minutes on the bus weren't much fun, but I dug out the puzzle and he was fine the rest of the ride. We went to the park playground, which he loved, and then took a walk to see the boats. We played duck-duck-goose and parachute games, and then I chased him around because all he wanted to do was run, lol. On the ride back to school he zonked right out; he's not real used to getting outside and running around. So it was a much, much better day than I had expected it to be. I love it when he has good days :)
