On the news I saw heroic faces today
Faces of bravery the newscaster would say
As he mentioned each brave soldier who gave their life
And behind each of these is a,
Mother, father, husband or wife
Mothers' arms will feel an awful emptiness
and wives or husbands will miss their embrace
And little children will never again
Reach up to touch their parent's face.
Faces of bravery are still among those
who fight in a battle they never chose
But who were willing to answer their country's call
Some gave a lot, but some gave their all
Faces of bravery are also among us here
trying their best their families to cheer
Trying to keep their heartache from showing
And trying to keep their loved ones from knowing
Trying to keep love ones from feeling their pain
from the feeling of not being able to go on again
Trying so hard to be brave for the daughter or son
Who won't see a mom or dad untill the war is won,,,
Faces of bravery are evident in the schools
Teachers realize that little ones aren't easy to fool
Little children keep on going as they walk out the door
Going to school as they did before....
Among the faces of bravery is the face of a wife
Who knows her husband daily risks his life
And a mother's brave face as she ralizes too
Just what it is her child must do...
so many versions of faces of bravery
I see them so many places and it's true
I see a face in bravery in those
love ones who wait at home
I see a face of bravery in you.
