Heres an old fable I'm going to share with you my "Lost Cherry" Friends:

The Ant and the Grasshopper

In a field one summer's day a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart's content. An Ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest. "Why not come and chat with me," said the Grasshopper, "instead of toiling and moiling in that way?" "I am helping to lay up food for the winter," said the Ant, "and recommend you to do the same." "Why bother about winter?" said the Grasshopper; we have got plenty of food at present." But the Ant went on its way and continued its toil. When the winter came the Grasshopper found itself dying of hunger, while it saw the ants distributing, every day, corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer. Then the Grasshopper knew... It is best to prepare for the days of necessity. line2arrows.gif The moral of the story: In layman's terms: While the grasshopper played during the "nicer" days of summer (often illustrated by him partying and/or playing) The ant was diligent and hard working, knowing that that tougher times are just around the corner.

(just because today is sunny, means not of a bright tomorrow)

::side note - in the television series "KUNG FU" - this fable was indeed why Cane was called GRASSHOPPER:: line2arrows.gif I've always enjoy the day ... *ahem* "Live today like there is no tomorrow" Sadly it has come up to bite me with the unexpected: "rainy day" I'd easily counter-point my very own thoughts, With little adages of my own: "Dont open the umbrella until it rains" UMBRELLA.gif Endless sayings like: "Dont count your chickens until your eggs hatch" "I'll cross that bridge when I come to it" chick_with_easter_basket_md_clr.gif "A penny saved is a penny earned" "Dont put your eggs in one basket" *shrugs* I could come up with something to counter any point lectured to me ... because my interpretations (to me) was the only one that counted ... right? I'm NOT saying this is in ANYWAY the right thoughts on saving/planning for the future ... It's just I'm a non-saver ... I believe you should save! allow me to add: "Do as I say, not as I do": (for the young and impressionable reading) My MuMM today ask:

MY Make Up My Mind QUESTION:

Are You good at saving up for a rainy day?

No - If I got it I spend it _partyguy.jpg Yes - I keep in little back (just in case) _dollar_sign_rotate_hg_wht.gif You can vote on that here: clickhere.gif line2arrows.gif

I guess I've always been reckless concerning thinking too far ahead. asthecrowflys.gif I'm a "Go as the crow flies" kinda guy and always will be. I'm always tossing out those adages and sayings like: "Live and learn" -but- As far as this thing goes (Thinking ahead) I don't think it will ever change, I foresee myself years from now 'wishing' that I would have done this or that ... "Hindsight being 20/20" and all -But- I'll keep "burning the candle at both ends" because I don't want to have those other reflection in my later years of "what if" and such. I guess I'll take my favorite saying:

Party like a ROCK STAR Dress like a MOVIE STAR F*ck like a PORN STAR

With that lifestyle I'll live it up in the classic "JAMES DEAN" way of thought ...

"Live fast and die young ... and leave a good looking corpes!"
