yesterday, I decided that since my sister wanted my mother's carved desk, (mom passed away in feb) I needed to move said desk out of my bedroom, and naturally replace the desk with a new one, and bookshelves.
Not normally a major undertaking....
However, I am disabled, I have degenerative disk and bone disease in my lumbar spine. It is a quite interesting ailment.... two, sometimes as many as 5 times a day, I get this shocking pain in my lower spine, I jerk like I have been struck by a jolt of electricity, and my brain suddenly forgets that I have two legs, such as they are, and I do a face plant into the ground, floor, or what ever is handy, even WHEN I have my cane.
And the social security judge denied my claim of disability at my last hearing, even with two specialists and a physical therapists statements on witnessing such episodes, and an ER report.
So, with that in mind, I decided I could move a solid teak and mahogonny desk to the living room...
CAN WE SAY STOOOPID?
or is it just a male thing?
I mean just because the last 3 nuerosurgeons I have seen have all said "I have no idea how you are walking...." and the state of texas refuses to give me a drivers license unless my vehicle is equipped with hand controls....
BUT.. the desk is moved, my new desk is in place along with a bookshelf, I have not slept a wink all night because of muscle spasms and considerable pain....
You know, if you had a horse or dog in the same condition I am in, you would put em down.... out of compassion....
Oh well... so much for the events of yesterday.
Today, if I can manage it, I do believe I will see if I can do something else equally logical in that John Wayne code of behavior for american males....
Or I may just sit in my chair and stare at the ceiling wondering how a person with a master's degree could be so stupid.....
