So this is what happened. Yesterday I was having a really really REALLY bad tooth ache. The tooth needs pulled and I can't get that done until Saturday and I have nothing to take for the pain since Tylenol does nothing. Soooo I call my mom and asked her if she had any pain killers that I could have to last until I could have my tooth fixed. She has my brother bring over two Seroquel and eight Clonazepam (Dissolving tablets). She says they will help and I know nothing about them but thought what the hell. So he brings them in a zip lock baggie and leaves. I take one of the Seroquel though she says to take them both. I seal the bag and set it on my dresser beside my bed and walk from my bedroom the my living room grab toilet paper and walk back.(Thirty sec. top) When I walk into the room I realize Kimberlee has the bag then that her tongue is blue. So I freak and take the bag and turn her to her stomach and try and pull the pills from her mouth not realizing they are quick dissolve pills. I realize that I have her mouth open and nothing is coming out so I face her towards me and try and sweep her mouth. This doesn't work either. I check the bag and realize there are two Clonazepam missing. I call my husband and ask him if it was really bad. I know it is but I don't know what it will do and he is an EMT and would know. He then tells me it's very bad and hangs up to call 911. Dispatch calls me and puts me on the phone with poison control who precede to tell me that my two and a half year old just took four times the lethal dose. and that the Medic unit would should be here. At this point I open my front door and M512 is outside so I hang up with dispatch. They come in and get the run down and check with poison control again and they say it's time to "grab and go" not "stay and play" so we get in the unit and my husband has to go back to work. So on the way to the ER shes is fine. Not as active as normal but otherwise fine. Once we get there and put her on her bed she starts teetering and zoning. They tell me that shes going to sleep heavy and that it's normal. At this point her breaths are twenty six a minute. This is ok for those of you that don't know. She took the meds at 1823 hr around 1930 hr I think she starts freaking out. Kicking screaming and is very uncontrollable. Once the doctor FINALY decides to come in he asks if this is normal for her. I told his of couse she spazzes sometimes but never like this. Normally if she is throwing a tantrum it last maybe a minute or two and then she lays on my shoulder and calms down and this time she wasn't. She wanted nothing to do with me and would not relax. So the doctor asks me if I was sure she took Clonazepam. I told him that's what I was told it was but that I could call and check even though poison control said it was Clonazepam 1 mg when I read the numbers off the pill to them. So once they finally find me a phone that works I call my husband and tell him he need to be there now then I call my mother and she doesn't answer. The doctor then keeps asking em if I am sure it was Clonazepam and I am like that's what I was told. At this point my mother calls and tells them it was so the doctor then freaks me out because he doesn't understand what's going on with her.(We later find out that in some children it causes hallucinations) About this time my husband shows up and take the baby. Now she is unconscious and her breaths are eleven a minute with eight seconds between them. This is bad very bad. So once I manage to find a doctor they come in and start checking her out and put in an IV and take blood. THEN after this they decide it's a smart idea to put her on oxygen after my husband tells them this. They are like OHHH good idea! Dumb asses. So she responds to the pain of the IV and is getting good oxygen. The doctor comes in and says she need to take some charcoal but only if she can drink it herself. UMMM HELLO DOC SHES UNCONCOUSE!!!! Retard! So around this time the medicine is kicking in and I am not only in extreme pain but groggy as well. So after lots of police questions and CPS questions they decide it was an "ACCIDENTAL DRUG OVERDOSE" and stop with the questions and the accusing stares. So at about 0250 hr I think the doctor comes in and does a final exam and says she will we ok and that a nurse will be in in a few minutes to check her vitals again so we can be discharged. He is done at 0300 hr which it the time her observation was suppose to be over. Right after this they get a code blue so the doctor never tells the nurse to check her vitals. So at this point shes somewhat awake, stumbling all over the place but alert. The nurse finally coming in after we have her paged and checks her vitals and says shes fine and discharges her. So ten hours later and having not eaten this whole time we get to leave. We come home and feed her spaghetti-o's which she pucks right back up and go to bed. She's doing ok today she sleeping at the moment but ok. You would have thought she learned after all this but she didn't I hid all the medicine so I though. She goes in the bathroom and puts like three calcium pills in her mouth. Thank god they where huge so she couldn't swallow them but we have decided we are buying a safe and putting all the medicine in the house in it. So if you are a parent you should think of doing the same. All it take it a second to lose your baby. P.S If M512 reads this thank you beyond words.
