As we fumble thru the journey of this existence we call life we are always on the search for love, laughter, happiness, companionship to complete and fill the tiny holes that lie within our souls. Not knowing that in pursing these things that should make us happy will in fact be the things that begins our lifelong road to pain and torment when the reality sets in. Our hearts break, our disappointments become real, friendships wither, laughter fades and we start to realize that happiness might just be unattainable. We then begin to become these creatures full of emotions that take over and run our thoughts, behaviors, personalities, and even dreams and in the midst of it our perception and ideologies of happiness becomes construed and altered. We first go thru denial, then we become hurt, then we get angry, and then we will in a desperate effort to fill the empty voids we compromise. Our thoughts of happiness become shallow, meaningless and sometimes even unmoral. We begin to tell ourselves that money, acceptance, sex, attention good or bad is the things that will soothe our souls while we sleep. We then become so involved in these false senses of happiness that we begin to break ourselves down, judge ourselves hasher than anyone else could do, we degrade ourselves to fit a picture of beauty, we buy big titties, fancy cars, big houses, suck the fat out of our asses, pop pills to enhance what God gave us all to impress people we don’t even know hoping that when in passing we will catch a smile, a quick conversation, or a compliment to make you feel “Happiness”. Then one day you look in the mirror and you no longer even have a reflection of yourself. You’re just a shadow lost in a shallow and relentless darkness still unhappy. We are so caught up in searching for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that we have lost sight of the promise it stands for, which alone should bring a smile to our face. Be who you are, some may even have to take a moment and ask themselves “who is that?” to follow a standard and a crowd is worthless and demeaning to oneself. You can judge me and not like me but who are you to me anyway? Happiness does not stem from approval or acceptance from your peers it lies within you and only you have the power and authority to dictate that. So know you are beautiful, hold your head high and let happiness flow from there. Don’t wander lost in a search for the ultimate, perfect happiness and depending on others to give you that happiness because when it’s all said and done would your search all been done in vain?
