Emotional distress

Have you ever been through something so traumatic it shakes you to your soul? Whether it be deployment for the good ole' boys whom I help defend this country, or a break up, an abusive relationship, or anything that could cause someone to cry hysterically, or stop talking to everyone completely. I don't mean to cry in my beer, but I've been through quite a few things that have left me cold, and hard-hearted. Which means for those of you who have, I can sympathize for you. Every situation is different for everyone. Some are much worse for others, and some are better. Then there are some who are high and mighty and believe they are better than everyone else. They have problems too. No one is truly perfect. Understand that. Whether it be a childhood moment that causes this kind of damage, or something as small, trivial, and ridiculous as a break up with a boyfriend or girlfriend, the fact remains the same. But yet, there are some who are quick to judge. Some believe others can help those going through these situations without knowledge of what's going on, or experiencing these things for themselves. It shouldn't be that way. for anyone! And it's no one's place to judge anything except for themselves. A man I recently met made a very valid point about judgement. Who are we to judge anyone, or tell them that they are failures. Higher power or not, it's the attempt in what we do in life that governs wether we fail or not. A word is a powerful tool, but the heart is much stronger, but easy to break if that makes sense. It matters most of what's in a man's heart. Dreams, hopes, love, desire. None of these can be truly taken away, but they can be halted by lack of trying, and faith in themselves. Yet again, an emotional issue. There are plenty of issues to people, but my point is, don't be so quick to judge us for those of you who have your head on straight. We're trying as hard as we can to live our lives in a decent fashion. We'd like to die happy one day, just as you do. But it's the fight that counts. The fight over how we feel, and what we do about it. So instead of trying to fix everyone's issues, try listening for once. Believe me, it goes a long way. Remember that.
