Drifting
And as I reflected :
I saw myself drifting through life;
Alone.
Floating through time and space
Reaching out
For a hand
a touch
a smile.
Finding only a void
a nothingness
Internalizing the grip that lonliness has placed on my heart,
my mind,
my soul.
Kissing my cheek with a tear;
Wanting
Needing
Waiting for what??
For that which I cannot have, to fill the emptiness inside
Engulfed in pain and dispair
Crying for the soft sunlight to dissipate the darkness and horror
which is my heart.
Again my mind drifts and my thoughts come back
to YOU
The smile on your face..
The warmth of your touch..
The love shining through your
eyes.
No longer am I alone
And for the first time
I Smile.
