Update

So about a week ago we went for a conference with one of the doctors in Neurology from the hospital in regards to the EEG test that my son had. According to the test it is confirmed that my son is having small brain seizures that are lasting from 1-2 seconds. Although they aren't lasting very long it's still enough to raise a concern. They have now started him on a medication, but I probably won't see any major improvements for a least a month. This will give us time to raise the dosage based on height, weight, etc. This is all the information I have for now, but would appreciate any prayers you can toss his way, and I will keep my peeps that care updated.

Trip to the doc

A few weeks ago my son went to the dr. for his 3 month checkup. I explained to him that he was twitching, usually 1st thing in the morning or before bed and also while he was sleeping. A few years back I expressed the same concern but the doc said it was his body's way of saying he was tired. I accepted that for the time being because it was always as soon as he woke up or at night when the body is tired most. Now that it's still going on they want to schedule an EEG in order to check the brain for seizures. Appointment day is here (today) and I am supposed to wake him up at 5:00 am and keep him awake for 9 hours prior to this appointment, without giving him sugar or caffiene during this time. Yeah ok! So I get him up and we watch a movie, eat breakfast and play some video games, go to my sisters and just chill till it's time. We get to the hospital and they take him back stick all these things to his head and chest with with about 50 wires running to a little box and he's laying in a bed. Now at this time they have an ocean/seagull sound machine to soothe him. I finally get brought back, and it kind of looks sad to see him like that, but I hoped for the best. They hand me a little clicker and tell me to push the button every time I notice him twitching. Easy enough! They run a few tests and then turn the lights almost off with the sound machine going in order for him to fall asleep for the last test. Bad idea! By this time I was so tired from getting up early that I was starting to doze off, but I pulled myself together to finish it. LoL So anyways, they now have him scheduled next week to meet with the doc to either test some more or go over the results. I pray that everything will be alright and would like for my "friends" to keep him in your prayers.
