I am so sick of hearing people condemn mothers for "spoiling" their children. So what if a child gets something from Walmart?.....so what if you get them what they want for birthdays or Christmas?......so what if the gifts are a little expensive?....my children are just that..MINE!!!....before my daughter got her own place she still worked full time, helped me keep house, babysat when I needed her to, cared for me & her younger brother when we're sick, fed the pets, reminded me of appointments, bills that are due and that I needed to take my medicine. The list goes on & on. Why can't I reward her for all her hard work?.....God knows how tough she has it now that she's out on her own (and NOT on welfare). Why shouldn't she enjoy what I can give her?...My youngest son is an "A" student, plays football and is in the band. He does his chores, doesn't bother anyone, and is an absolute joy to be around. He has a sense of humor that will make anyone laugh.....he has more friends, more brains then some 40 year old men I know........so what if he has a PS2, a Gamecube, an Xbox, a PSP, a gameboy and a couple of Nintendos?....a computer, a television, a phone?....a go cart, bicycles, and a collection of Yugioh cards to die for.......my kids do not lack ANY need....I am home every day with them...we do everything together....we have our own space and respect each others privacy....we get on each others nerves....we laugh together...we cry together.....we suffer and enjoy together......my kids know the value of hard work and persistence....they also know the value of money.....save some spend some........my kids have hopes and dreams....and my kids know and trust the Lord.......we disappoint each other...we build each other up....we fall...we catch.....we LOVE!!!!!!!!!!.......so the next time you see a mother in Walmart "giving in" to her kids...take a step back and put yourself in her shoes.....maybe she is just showing a little gratitude for the uncomparable joy that her children have given her.
