I never realized dogs could get cancer like humans, but my black lab was diagnosed with lymphoma today, and she's only 7 years old. She could live another 5 years *IF* I could afford doggy chemo, but I can't. With the current 'treatment' of diuretics and steroids she can MAYBE live comfortably 6 months to a year.
My husband is really torn up about his "baby" and feels we should have her put down now, while I feel that as long as she is not in pain we should enjoy her while she's living. Even the folks at the vet's office say she doesn't act as sick as she is.
