Good Morning. Gas prices are about to jump again. Imagine that! I wonder how the gas out on May 15th went. Must have worked…gas is on the rise again. The consumer has no say in any of this other then to talk amongst themselves and complain on how high it is to fill their SUV’S up… Well so much for changing that by strike.
Let’s try a new approach. Let’s all quit driving… There ya go… that will teach Mr. Oil and Mr. Well. Oh wait, I have that soccer game to attend to, and I need to run over to see how Joe is doing…Oh and I thought I would take the dog out in the country for a stroll. I will quit driving after all that…ooops have to get groceries and get my hair done… can’t car pool to the salon. See, they own us, we need them end of story. We have to sit there and take it.
You know I had a thought. If everyone in this gas guzzling nation just did without one trip a week. One trip say even up to the gas station for coffee would walk tag along with another, just once a week… think of all the trips that would save…I for one would do it. But, I first want to see who else would do it…see there it is…the precious saying without saying. The wait and see method. Yeah the wait and see method is used daily. Oh yes it is. That is the method in which we do what we do or not do. Here is one use of it. Last night Melinda went home on American Idol. Why? Because there were a lot of wait and seeing going on. Others thought, well she will be safe someone will vote to keep her on. Well you know what? A bunch thought that way and did not vote for her so now she has to start her multi-billion dollar record sales early. She will be fine, trust me the gal has pipes and can sing in the rain, in the snow and can safely go where no other Idol can…The wait and see method will drive you nuts. That’s when you thought someone else was going to do it so you did not have to. Gas will go down because we are not going to buy it on May 15th… I did not buy gas on May 15th did you? I forgot all about it and did not need it anyway, because I filled up the day before as did many others just not to buy it on May 15th…so did it work? No, why? Because the shortage of gas on May 15th was counter-acted by purchases on May 14th, 13th and many more on May 16th. Laugh all you want but it is true. Stop buying something you can’t live without does what for whom?...Ok now we are getting somewhere. You can’t live without it but you can use less of it. Smokers, try quitting smoking all together. Yeah fat chance. Oh it can be done but might require shackles and bindings…hmmm sounds a little S & M ish… Never mind that thought. But, as most smokers or non-smokers who quit found out if you gradually lower your intake, the craving is still there but the will-power over powers it. Let’s do without one trip a week. It could be for a trip to the gas station for cigarettes, coffee you name it…but it’s a start… Think about it. That one trip by everyone can save gas consumption…over abundance means too much to handle so the cost will drop. Let’s stop Mr. and Mrs. Oil wells from getting richer… Or, we can use the wait and see method…Or the other method of not buying gas on May 15th……….. Have a wonderful day, and do it by going for a walk, bike ride or planning what trip can be done without…Just a thought, perhaps not the cure…but what else is working…?
