I have had a friend of a friend confide in me. It was said in a drunken moment when we were alone. Something very confidential. I would rather not know this and have not said a word. But he has told at least two people, that he gave me a his biggest secret. Now I've had those two people approach me about this secret, and I have played dumb. I claimed I didn't hear it and just ignored him drunk.
I contacted the guy who told me his secret, and mentioned the two people to him, but he said he told them only that I knew his secret. They know nothing.
Now several people overheard them asking about this secret and keep hounding me. I have kept my mouth shut. But now I'm tempted to make something up, just to shut them up.
It could be funny. I talked to the guy (whose secret I hold) and he thinks this is a great idea.
So should I make something up or just keep quiet and ignore the hounding? |
