As a nurse I see so many patients coming in and being on all kinds of antidepressant drugs. It amazes me that some of these people arent in a coma from the amount of stuff they are on. Doctors these days are way too quick to put people on meds imo. My daughter told her physician that SOMETIMES she feels a little anxious when shes driving in her car alone. He prescribed an addicting antidepressant for her. A little over the top in my opinion.
I happened upon this article....that says basically that sadness is not only NORMAL it is also healthy and can help you to be a better person and actually enhance your life more. I know...it sounds strange but check out the article. it does make some valid points, especially when discussing relationships. May explain why the divorce rate is so high.....not always happy with your mate? Just dump them and find someone that makes you happier.

In thinking about it...Ive done some of my best work while feeling melancholy. I believe the reason why people are so depressed is they are trying to acheive this "chronic happiness" in thier lives. And its an unatainable goal. Like the commercial says....life comes at you fast. Just being happy most of the time is good enough for me.
