NTZ's blog: "A Return Of Thought"

I'm a type of person who waits before giving my opinion on things.  A full day hasn't passed since the death of Bin Laden and honestly I would prefer another 24 hours to think on it.  So listening to different reactions and opinions with most being joy, its interesting as always to watch humans and their behaviors.  One view given really made me think on something and this person always gives a different thought to everything, which is why i'm a fan of him.  He's Colin Cowherd, a radio host on ESPNradio.  He's co-host of the show SportsNation which airs mostly on ESPN2 from time to time.  He always gives interesting thoughts and the one he gave was about the celebration of a death.  We as a country would see other countries, mostly smaller nations in war and when a leader is killed we broadcast them celebrating in the streets and we would say that's crazy.  Now we have became that.  I've never seen so much celebration from the death of someone.

My first reaction was so what, who cares.  Yes i know he's supposedly the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks but 9/11 never hit home for me because I didn't lose anyone i'm close to on that day.  So that day basically for me was like Haiti, amazement and sad to see but that's life. We all not going to die in our sleep. So I was at work on break checking my phone and I get text messages from different things like ESPN and Weatherchannel, and other things like that.  The news of his death came from ESPN for me and it was hmm so what.  Then thought well hope they kept the body of something.  We live in a world where you have to ask yourself, do you really trust the news?  Me personally I dont trust anyone.  What you say is alright, take your word for the moment.  Time will either bring truth to light or bury it more in the darkness. Which we come to hear his body buried at sea, of course.

The more time has gone on part of my feelings is one where I sit here knowing the product from 9/11 now continues on.  This isnt the end, its truly the beginning just we dont know what to.  I said in facebook on a friends status that this to me is like a moral victory.  In sports, a team loses but plays hard and they probably wasnt favorite to win but they almost pulled it off.  People look at that as moral victory as you didnt win but you showed a lot and can learn from it.  So is Bin Laden's death victory?  To me its just getting over one hurdle.  A nasty dispicable hurdle but just a hurdle.  We climbed this huge mountain and we think we reached the peak and damn this mountain continues on. Feels like a moral victory.  We lost so much, well this country lost so much and it seems this country still been going downhill since 9/11.  Dont see this as a turnaround for our country.  I really wonder is Bin Laden was the head of THE snake or just one of many heads of many snakes.

Back to the celebrating, no matter how fucked up a person is I cant really celebrate the death of someone. Except my own.  Me dying will be the best thing for the world. Me not having kids is the best thing for this world.  Anyway, I just look at everyone with a weird face and go....REALLY! Shugs and ok, go ahead. It's whatever in the end for me, just another fucking day.  Except someone with some importance to the history of America has been killed.  Guess now he's a martyr to his followers.
