The Decision

Well, with the price of gas so high we cant travel far, however we have decided to start taking some day trips. I want to start to show Mike more of my world down south. I am going to be posting pictures and blogs about each trip. We had planned to go to colorada this summer to visit a very dear friend that lives there now but unfortunatly with the price of gas and the fact that we are trying to save up for a wedding next may we just cant really afford it. I hope you guys enjoy the journey with us through my blogs and pics.

Galveston Texas Woo Hoo our first day trip, Up untill now we have done errands and stuff but other than two trips to houston to take a friend to the airport and then to pick her up, we have not ventured very far from home since Mike moved down here. So, I chose galveston Island for the first trip. We finally got out of here around 10 am. I was hopeing for an earlier start but hey, sometimes it just takes a bit to get going. No problem as Galveston is only about an hour and a half or so from the house. Well thats how long it takes to get to the ferry and from the ferry. It takes about 20 minutes for the ferry ride and god only knows how long you will be in line for that ferry. Well going over the line was pretty short and I think we got on the second ferry that docked after we arrived. It was Mikes first ever car ferry ride so that was pretty cool. I have riden many many times growing up here and all. It was nice to share another first with him. We seem to have so many first to share and I love it. So on the way over we went upstairs to the look out deck thing and rode up there for a bit, we went back down before most everyone else though cause the stairs are really steep and with my disability I had a really hard time on them. Comeing back across we stayed down on the bottem by the truck the entire time but it was cool cause we saw the dolphins. I have seen many a dolphin in my life but never off the ferry. It was so cool. Well, anyway, we rode around galveston and I showed mike some of the sites. we stoped at the sea wall and sat on the steps and just enjoyed watching the water for a bit. then we ate at mcdonands. Stopped and bought tshirts for some of the girls in the family. He bought me a frog made out of sand. its really cool and I love it. Then we pretty much headed back home. it was an awesomely cool day and we just enjoyed spending the day outdoors and with each other. We are hopeing to make more of these sort of trips together. Oh and sunday was bindis 6 months birthday so we brought her shopping to petco and petsmart and bought her some carob chip cookies (her favorite) and a pretty new fancy pink collar.
