i have an issue in which i can't decide whether to date or not date. i'm a single mom with a 13 yr old at home. he is an excellent student and good athlete. all he cares about is school and sports. he has NO dad. his dad lost his rights when he was not even 2 yrs old. i've been in 1 relationship since he was born and he really got hurt. the relationship lasted 3 yrs, but don could not be faithful. brandon liked him and the break up was horrible for both of us. this has been over 3 yrs ago and i have not really dated since. i don't want to put him in that position again. the only father figure he has ever known is my dad, but he is 13 yrs older than my mom and his health is declining every single day. it seems the only men i meet are not interested in a package deal. i guess maybe because i tend to attract older guys. don was 15 yrs older than me. i enjoy being a mother more than anything, but would sure like a companion. i would also like for brandon to have the experience of a real dad type relationship. i don't know what to do. at this point i just spend time on my computer, work, and attend to my son. enjoying his games and such. what do you think i should do? i'm scared to date afraid of being hurt. should i take the risk or how should i approach the subject. your input is greatly appreciated.
