The sharpened steel pierces, tearing the flesh unmercifully,
Like a missal it knows its target, The hidden vein throbbing deep within,
The day is painted crimson, as my life-force pours from me,
I watch it stream steadily, as my world begins to spin,
The tingling sensation sharpens as my body stiffens coldly,
All warmth soon to be forgotten, As it trickles down my side.
My stubborn heart keeps beating each thud proclaiming boldly,
As it slowly begins to empty, as I watch the out flowing tide.
How much longer till the last drop, till the end of this deep felt pain?
Who knew it would be so simple just to open up a vein.
The room begins to blur,
The light begins to darken,
“Well that’s the end for her.
A quick finish for one barely started”
Consciousness slips away and the quiet is now embraced,
The pain slowly fades away as the bandage is put into place.
“Thank you for your donation.” Said the nurse with the pretty green eyes
“ It’s because of people like you, that another now may survive.”
