Dancing
Sitting here watching raindrops on my window
Drifting away, lost in space and time
Only a few know and can enter this place
Thunder and lightning a backdrop to my private world
Eerie shadows created by lightning
Dance to the roar of thunder
This place of magic, this place of freedom
The child slowly emerges afraid to be seen
For a moment in time, she forget her fears
She begins to dance and run in merriment
Her giggles echo like tinkling bells upon the wind
Soaring to exhilarated heights with total abandonment
She relishes these unknown feelings
Something she’s craved but never found
Suddenly the fears crash into her, throwing her back
Uncontrollable tears as she convulses in pain
Running back into the shadows to the safety of the darkness
She hides in her little corner
