Daddy went away last night
He wanted to buy me some toys
but then some men in the parking lot
started making a lot of noise
He kept far away from the men
and entered the store through the back
He bought me a new dolly
and a brand new pink backpack
When we was going back to his car
the men were acting stranger
Then daddy saw a silver flash
and realized he was in danger
The silver flash was really a gun
and I think my daddy saw it
The group of men started after my daddy
and loaded the gun with a bullet
They started walking faster
and then began to run
and the biggest man of all
shot my daddy with his gun
Daddy screamed a painful cry
and then fell to the ground
The mean men took his money
but daddy didn't move
The group of men then took his coat
and piled into a bus
then the owner of the store came out
to see what caused the fuss
He told my father he'd be ok
then dialed 9-1-1
ANd then my daddy told him
about the big man with the gun
When the ambulance came to take him,
Daddy told me not to cry
And said that he'd be home soon
to sing me a lullaby
They took him to the hospital
and tried to save his life
but the doctor frowned and said
"someone should comfort his wife"
My dady went away last night
The big man made him die
Now my Daddy's in heaven
But I never got to say good-bye
