Cottaging

I had never heard this term until I was reading an article about Sen. Larry Craig's arrest. Here's the definition from Wiki: Cottaging is a gay slang term referring to anonymous male/male sex in a public lavatory (a cottage), or to the practice of cruising for sexual partners in public lavatories with the intention of having sex elsewhere. Have you ever heard that term? More Taboo-ly, guys, have any of you done it? While we're on the subject, what do you think about Larry Craig? While I'm all for getting rid of hypocrites in public office, the details of the arrest report really bother me. You can see the original document at Smoking Gun. Basically, according to the undercover cop, Craig stood outside the stall where the cop was on the toilet for more than 2 min., peeking through the door. Then, Craig went into the next stall and dropped his pants and sat down. He tapped his foot, which (I didn't know this either) is a signal that you're looking for a sexual encounter. The cop tapped back. Craig moved his foot over and touched the cop's shoe. Then he got arrested. To me, it seems like the cop not objecting to him peeking in the door for that long and tapping back when Craig tapped is entrapment. If we take everything the cop said as the truth, should that be a crime? Since when did making a sexual pass at another adult become illegal? To me, what Craig did isn't anymore aggressive than a guy going up to a woman at a grocery store and asking her if she'd like to get together sometime. It would be different if he actually got caught over-exposing himself or performing a sexual act in a public restroom. But using a code to ask if someone's interested? I'd be willing to bet that most straight guys wouldn't even know that tapping was a code, and if someone was peeking in their stall they'd tell him to back off. It's not like he walked up to the cop and copped a feel or offered the guy $20 for a BJ. What are your thoughts?
