Good Morning and one week before the day of the Turkey. You know I was sent one of those quizie quizzes…you know the ones that test your knowledge on this or that’s. Well I have so much knowledge just awaiting to be tapped I just had to take it. Well this was no ordinary quiz…it wasn’t about how much does a hen weight…what’s a Henway? Isn’t that an author that lived in Key West Florida? Yeah Ernest Henway… I mean Hemingway oh well I thought I knew that one at least… No it was not about Chickens and their weight it was about TURKEY’S Yes Turkeys… how much do you know about turkey’s… well not you you, it was sent to me by a very sweet lady who afterward we argued over an answer we both apparently missed… oh the quiz was a 20 question little ditty and afterwards you did not get any prize, I was not deemed better for talking it and I was not going to win a free meal at Applebee’s…you know I always want to put a “Y” in Applebee’s oh well no matter…where was I? Oh, the quiz and what it was about. Well it was a fitting quiz due to the fact Thanksgiving in the US in a week away and I know my Canadian friends already had their Giving of Thanks so here was this quiz and I scanned over it real quick to see how many questions were involved and seen that it was just 20 I can do 20 and just prior to doing this I thought oh heck if I don’t ACE this my mother who was a chef would be turning over in her grave. Well, dang it…hopefully residents in New Port Richey, Florida do not confused the rumblings in the ground with that of an earthquake or anything like that. I only had 11 correct answers but I did beat the cutie that sent the quiz to me so there… it’s all about the victory to me…But I was amazed on how much I did not know about the fine bird we call the Turkey. Oh and it does not matter I only beat her by one answer, a win is a win period. So if you get a chance take that Turkey quiz it is a cute quiz as far as quiz’s can be called cute… oh.. and on MSN today their was like tons of things starting to sprout up due to the fact next week is Turkey day I hate when people call it that and I just did! Dang me! So there is 190 ways to fix a Turkey… Really? Hmmm I guess dressing the bird means buying clothes for the dang thing because I can think of about one way… COOK IT! If you don’t then you will certainly loose some weight fast…eeeeww been their done that it’s not a fun sit…I will leave it at that. So there were the gazillion ways to cook the bird. This year I am going to do a bird the way the Food-911 dude did his at a fire-department it was cut up grilled color me happy… oh it looked fantastic and I love turkey moist and all so I was all into his fixing it that way once I seen that episode. I have baked, grilled whole, Deep fried and that about does the way’s this boy has fixed the bird. I mean there are many variations of spices and additives to make the bird moist but the way the food 911 dude did it looks great. He has all those neat gadgets too. Oh There was this article on Hot Gadgets for the Kitchen on msn today and I scanned thru it and seen some of the goofy things and our house is like most other house’s where we have the stupid pasta maker, or bread maker or ice-cream maker just cluttering up a pantry. Yeah that gets used more then once after you purchase it. How many measuring cup things do you have? I think we have to be the biggest pack rats, we have 765 different ways to measure how much you add in of a certain liquid, flour you name it and you know which one we use the most? Come on guess… You got it … the two good ole eyes we were born with and the two hands god gave us… I should market a store for left-over kitchen gadgets that people buy and never use again. I would be a millionaire 2 times over.. Oh leftover turkey is good fixed with Rice too… hmmmm color my in food coma heaven…. Oh I best get for now due to the fact I am running out of things my fingers can write without making this “R” rated…Hang in there and please have a safe and wonderful Thursday and PS no gifts please as tomorrow is the big guys Birthday.
