I'm writing from a steel cage
Alone, By myself
with no one to embrace
putting age lines on my face
with only a trace of love
thats been embraced and then erased
and somehow misplaced
the mind body and soul
encaged in an empty space
like an animal
locked down and then knocked down
traveling through time medicated
another peaceful moment and silent sounds
brought down to the ground
to be pushed around and then drowned
only to be heard by the still
so sit quietly and listen
and hear what you will
listen to your heart
it knows how you feel
the sun will shine through
summer will arrive fresh and new
and bring forth new life
for me and you new love
new growth from grey to blue
colors so vivid and true
thoughts you thought where gone
will remind me of you
and the things we used to do.
