"Damn!" - (time to start shopping) -

PARTYwelcome3.gif my casual readers and the curious passer-bye "CherryTAP" FRIENDS (still yet to get use to that ... that "TAP" thing) I survived taking the lilHippY out on beggars night. It rained a "Cold November Rain" most of the hour and half we were out on are quest for treats.

The sugar rush for my Lexy (and mine too) has come and gone, and so has another holiday. As we walked house to house last night, seeing the lights and yard decor and that little nip in the air: Yeap, as alluded to above ... The H O L I D A Y season, is before US! I know, it seems to creep up on us earlier each year ... catching us by surprise. Surprise? wait ... How can it catch us by surprise? That's my point, it's not a surprise. In fact, I only write this because last night after trick or treating with my little one, we are watching a Halloween Movie. During a commercial break, I'm about half listening to the ads when it occurs to me that they are indeed: Advertising Christmas Movies, Shopping Sales & of course credit cards to pay for it all! Correct me if I'm wrong ... Yesterday was STILL October wasn't it? I know, there are those of you who love shopping. Shopping for the HOLIDAZE is a big event that YOU may even enjoy ... I'm just wondering if there may be anybody else who feels like I do with the smashing in our faces so early each year. That it adds to the pressure of the whole holiday season? presents.jpg

Does earily "holiday" ads make the time before the holidays more stressful? a_question.gif

Yes (I don't like to feel pressure to start shopping so early) -or- No (I like to shop, it motivates me to plan ahead.)

Back in my youth, I remember when my mother (who was a Jehovah's Witness) would start complaining about seeing "Christmas decor" (in those days their wasn't anything PC as calling it "Winter Festable/Season") a day after Thanksgiving. I recall her muttering: "Gee, it's day after Thanksgiving and peoples putting up trees when I've not even made my first left over turkey sandwich"! *shakes head* Gotta love moms view, and I guess foresight ... when she once added: "What's next, your going to see Christmas decorations in the store right after Halloween?" I remember, chuckling a long with the rest of the family while shaking my head in disbelieve. How could people start thinking about a holiday so soon? Good Foresight mom! ... Well, I hope you enjoyed my thoughts, I know I enjoyed sharing them. I should let you go now ... You probably have some __________ (fill in your winter festival celebrated here) shopping to do! 1fire.gif1fire.gif1fire.gif1fire.gif1fire.gif1fire.gif
