Good Monday Morning to you. The weekend flew by as usual! It was a weekend that seen little rest time for me, but when you play you pay on Monday…Yuck that sounds like a weekend slogan for me. Saturday a Friend and I played in a two person Charity Scramble near Battle Creek and the home of Tony the Tiger. (Kellogg’s) I felt compelled to put the Kellogg’s product name down due only to the fact It is early and I do not want to confuse anyone. Our twosome finished 1 over par and for us that was good. We did not win but helped raise money for the Charity. Afterwards I sped off to drive back into Saint Joseph, to a Threy-o-De-Mayo party at another friend’s house. Where when I arrived here was Bonnie and my friend Phil’s Wife Peg wearing sombreros leaning over a balcony railing like two ladies of the night drunk as skunks and singing…Oh that was a picture. They called my cell phone about 15 times on the golf course…”Hey where are ya..!?” So I was not really surprised to see these two pickled and trying to imitate Mexican ladies. So I get there and ordered to make a booze run but only after paying 24.00 in gambling wages Bonnie owed betting on the Kentucky Derby…It all in all was a great Party. Oh by the way Happy Cinco-De-Mayo Day! O’ la Other then that the weekend flew, two lawns to mow on Sunday and Oh..oh… this has to stop… no not the lawn care man in me… the greeters at the doors of Grocery Stores! I mean the ones selling candy or popcorn for certain events. I understand the whole baseball, softball, soccer candy sells…But, honestly people who run these leagues have meant these sells to be to family and friends and coworkers. One or two boxes of candy only, helps pay for uniforms, tournaments and such…Now we have to deal with Churches selling like a gazillion and one boxes of candy, popcorn you name it with chairs set up and a table… Come on that is actually embarrassing and harassing in my book. I do not like it when a kid comes up and asks at the doorway of a store if I want to help support their team…No I am not heartless. I have a huge heart just seems the whole scenario is out of whack! The reason for the sells is to make money for those things…I feel that a church doing that is robbing you. Churches have their venues to do that right on their own lawn. Bake sells, Picnics you name it but do it on the grounds… when you send perishes out to sell at Wal-Marts and stores like that, I do not trust the fact that the Money is going to the church. How about making an effort to do the door to door sells…I can hear it now from parents… but that is not safe… Oh and leaving your Child un-attended at a store with Money and candy in hand makes it more safer… Yeah right! Did you know child molesters and those that kidnap…look there first? I think door to door sells work and have the parent drive them there…The Church thingy is just not right…sorry that is just my opinion. I also hate the fact that a parent will send there kid in to a Bowling ally and go table to table selling candy…who runs these leagues? I would have never suggested a child go into a bar to sell candy… I mean if you can’t sell two boxes of candy to friends and family and coworkers… then damn… Shoot time to go…and I was on a roll…
