what is Christmas and why do we celebrate it. Christmas is a time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ when he was born in a manger with the 3 wise men, mary, joseph, and all the animals and to this day we still celebrate his birth. Christmas is another one of those times where we can get together with family and friends and neighbours and to open presents and share memories that will last a lifetime. its a time for sharing with the needy, and staying up late at night waiting for santa to bring us our gifts under the tree. and then waking up in the morning rushing to the tree and seeing all the gifts that were ummm left there by our parents and not santa oops did i just tell everyone the secret lol. now as i grow older its not the gifts that matter anymore its the giving and the fellowship with each other that matters more to me. and just seeing the smile on peoples faces. today i have found that like any holiday it has become too commmercialized and that we have lost the true meaning of the spirit of christmas. today its more about what gifts we are getting or hoping we get and not the fact that Christ was born many years ago. we need to all remember that. and to remember that there are people out there that are less fortunate then us and that deserve a christmas just as much as we do. especially the kids. groups that do things for the kids like OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD where you put toys or brushes and other things in a shoe box and they ship it off to 3rd world nations for kids that dont have anything just to see the kids reaction would make my heart melt and i would cry just from seeing the joy on their faces when they open up their boxes. there are organizations across CANADA and the US that we can help drop off a toy to for the kids so that they too can have a christmas here in our own countries. so please everyone there are bulletins going around like TOYS FOR TOTS AND THE TOY DRIVE AT THE CAR THING.drop off a toy or a donation and let us help the kids and help bring a smile to their faces. AND ONE LAST THING PLEASE DONT DRINK AND DRIVE OVER TEH CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS. BE RESPONSIBLE HAVE A DESIGNATED DRIVER. SO TO EVERYONE IN CHERRYTAP HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS AND YES THIS BLOG IS EARLY LOL.
