Christmas Sadness

The holiday season is here again
It's time to make merry
with family and friends
The colorful lights and candles aglow
Bring warmth to our hearts
and make our love grow
In spite of the season
my hearts filled with sadness
the glitter and shine
they don't bring me gladness
for how can I feel
this cheer in my heart
when the future to me
looks so bleak and dark
What do you say to your children
when they want and they need
something you can't give them
A new pair of shoes
to replace worn out ones
or just a few dollars
to do something fun
I can't help but wonder
as I shed a tear
how will I feed
my children this year
I pray to the Lord
both night and day
in the hopes that He'll help us
make everything right
Until that day
I'll do all I can
to make Christmas for my family happy again!!!
