I choose to live by choice, not by chance; to make changes, not excuses; to be motivated and not manipulated; to be useful, not used. I choose self-esteem, not self-pity; to listen to my inner voice, not the random opinions of others... If you do not like something I say or do, get over it or delete me. I am a single, grown woman and I certainly do not need your approval!!! I am not conceited, nor am I convinced. I am Confident in myself and the person that I have become. I hold my head high because there are too many that would love to see me fall. What those people fail to realize is the fact that I fall often, I just learned how to get back up a long time ago!!!
It is not my past that defines me, It is how I got through it and who I am today!! Human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives. I am determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; because I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances. More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren’t so busy denying them... Acceptance and accountability are the first steps to free you from yourself.
It takes strength to be firm, It takes courage to be gentle, strength to conquer - courage to surrender, strength to be certain - courage to have doubt, strength to fit in - courage to stand out, strength to feel a friend’s pain - courage to feel your own, strength to endure abuse - courage to stop it, strength to stand alone - courage to lean on another, strength to love - courage to be loved, strength to survive - courage to live. You will never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. Just remember, God places the heaviest burden on those who can carry its weight...
People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered. Love them anyway. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Do what is right and you will always be both, humble and proud... Although not every choice you make is about directions, all choices will influence where you end up... Just remember this... It's never difficult to make decisions when you know what your values are.
Stop let people’s compliments go to your head and don’t let their criticisms go to your heart. The degree to which you do either of these things, is the degree to which you’ll be ruled by what other people think of you. IE... I could honestly care less what someone's opinion is who does not know me. My suggestion would be... Before you judge my life, my past or my character... Walk in my shoes, walk the path I have traveled, live my sorrow, my abuse, my doubts, my fear , my pain and my laughter! Remember, "Judge not lest ye be judged." Everyone has their own story! When you've lived my life, then you can judge me!
And lastly ... My new-found Mantra = The only way to deal with a world enslaved in hate and ignorance is to become so absolutely open and free that your very existence is an act of rebellion. And I seem to be doing a good job at that these days!!!
