Guam is Forgotten Again!!!! Maybe...it was just an oversight. Maybe they just weren't thinking...Major League Baseball games were blacked out here on Guam recently. Apparently Major League Baseball signed a contract with ESPN which stipulated that the games could only be aired in the 50 states and D.C. Our Governor had to write to these guys and say HEY!!! One of our sons, John Hattig, Jr. is a third baseman with the Toronto Blue Jays and WE WANT TO SEE HIM PLAY!!! With 155,000 citizens and thousands of American Military and their families, all of which are American Citizens, and we are being denied America's favorite pasttime. Well, I read that ESPN made good with MLB and rectified the situation so the 2006 Divisional Games should be aired soon. Wonder what they said to them? PLAY BALL!!!!!!

Hafa Adai, todus hamyo.... Hafa Adai, todus hamyo! In Chamorro, the language of Guahan, or Guam as it is often called, this means, hello everyone! Guam is a tiny island of the Marianas chain, located 13 degrees N and 143 degrees W. in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It is the southern most island in the Marianas Chain. While Guam is an unincorporated U.S. territory, the other islands in the chain make up the Commonwealth of the Marianas. Our one and only resource is now tourism. Dozens of hotels and duty-free shops and restaurants and clubs make up hotel row along the beach in Tumon. Beautiful hills and rivers make up the southern part of the island and limestone cliffs are in the north. Guam is predominantly Catholic, having once been owned by Spain, but many other religions are found. Our population is made up of Chamorros, Filipinos, Koreans, Chinese, and Micronesians from other islands such as Chuuk, Yap, Palau, Pohnpei, and Kosrae. I hope in this blog to give you the heads up on what is beautiful about the island, what is ugly about the island, and what is going on in the island, as well as add a few things just for laughs
