While I am always looking for ideas of the special gift from the heart on Holidays like Christmas, Valentines Day and Easter yeah we are goobers we use those dates to give one another little things from the heart. Yes even Easter… I believe it is a tradition set down long, long ago… wow sounds like a harlequin novel starting out doesn’t it? Oh Birthdays too, that is a given. But, the real point here is not the Holiday in which you give the gift more so you are basically telling the other or whom you are gifting, hey, I thought today since it is a special date in time you deserve something because you are special to me. Which by no means takes away from the special day or Holiday. I mean so many people say Christmas is so commercialized and people forget the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate it… No, no we do not forget, and no we are not over looking the fact the of the most special Birthday was on that date. The fact is we all celebrate in different ways. My gosh how brail and pail would it be if we all bowed down at once gave a moment of silence and then proceeded on with the day like it was nothing… stab me with a rusty spoon and get it over with yuck! I mean I can recount the times the girls trudged down the upstairs stair case seeing I had a fire lit in the wood burner because of the glowing light shadows dancing off the Christmas tree ornaments and tinsel. Yeah in reality they were to think Santa did the deed, he lit the fire and he ate the dried cookie and now sour milk they left. They always knew the Holiday was set around presents, a huge family gathering or not and a big dinner. But they also knew that the date was the day Christ was born… no we were not the most church going family on earth and the jury is still out on whether or not we know what a parish is… just kidding! But the kids knew those holiday’s were not just present days, not just commercialized days to spend and get, get and spend… I can’t wait until their children come sloshing down the stairs or what ever, until they can feel that feeling of seeing a Childs eyes light up with glee… wow, it sure sounds like a harlequin story…. But no magic gift present can take away the day… nor should those fractions who say that Christmas should be not called Christmas and a Christmas tree should just be a pine tree… an we all have heard the story’s over and over again, let people celebrate how they wish, give them the chance to remember a special date as a special date, not as we should all bow our heads and thank the lord we made it this far… because honey…you should be doing that every.. Stinking day… not just on Christmas or Easter… wow… would someone get me off this podium. I am scared of heights! So again you will here me say this today on Christmas and the same as my girls would say, Merry Christmas to you and yours… Yes it is a Holiday I call Christmas and always will…
