Can you believe it...

Good Morning. Oh my gosh you have to give me your take on this story that is on “TODAY’S PICKS” Msn web page. DALLAS - A woman arrived at her child's daycare center to find the building closed with her 14-month-old daughter locked inside alone, authorities said. The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and Dallas police are investigating how the girl was left alone for nearly two hours Tuesday night. She was asleep in a high chair and was not injured, according to state officials. "I was so upset," said the girl's mother, Ashley Hunter. "I was never going to put my child in day care. She had only been there three weeks." Hunter said she couldn't get past the gate blocking the driveway at L&S Early Childhood Learning Academy and called police. Rescue workers broke the door to get the girl, according to a police report. Spokeswoman Marissa Gonzales said Family and Protective Services, which licenses child-care centers, has not determined whether it will take action against the center. Depending on the agency's findings, sanctions might include temporarily closing the center, revoking its permit or excluding the responsible caregivers from working with children there, she said. Shirley Ray, the center's owner, could not be reached for comment Wednesday. The police report said the owners told police the last person left the facility at 6 p.m. and did not realize the child was still there. Dallas police Sgt. Brenda Nichols said Wednesday that police hadn't decided whether to file criminal charges. "It appears that it was just a communication breakdown in that nobody realized that that child was still there," Nichols said. At a different daycare business that operated in the same building, an 8-month-old boy died in 2003 from heat exposure after being left in a vehicle. The state closed that center. Gonzales said the center has new owners and operates under a different name. L&S has been cited for six violations since February 2006, including record-keeping violations, using prohibited bumper pads and comforters in infants' cribs, and employing a caregiver without CPR or first-aid training. One parent said the center's owners gave a good explanation for Tuesday night's mishap. "That was just a big misunderstanding," said Joe Thomas, whose 3-year-old daughter attends the center. "These are good people, and that was an honest mistake." Oh Come on! Did I oversleep and get jettisoned to Mars? I mean what kind of Idiot takes the side of a center designed to give care, (The obvious misuse of the word) for Children. I bet that dude’s tune would change if that was his three year old strapped in that high chair and locked down for the night… I mean I can be the most understanding person in the world honestly I can. But, when someone pays you for their services and those incidentally mean watching and protecting whom you leave in their care to their best of their knowledge. I mean they have to take some test, some oath or something right? This man protecting the fact that someone did not check everything before they locked it down. Then in the same building different care center a child died… Time to take the license away and close the facility would be my bet. Here is something along those lines. Not to the extent but similar just the same. Bonnie Ma left her Registered Boxer in a Kennel in Dowagiac, Michigan (Yes my alma madder High School Town) When she returned to pick up the dog she was greeted by the manager of the kennel and said to her, we need to sit down over here and have a talk. Her mom figured the dog misbehaved and they perhaps were going to bill her for it. However she found out that that was not the case. Her dog died while in their care. Ok, mishaps happen, sometimes things just happen for no reason. But, it’s outrageous that this manager still asked for the payment of the days the dog was there and alive. Can you friggen believe it? Oh well, another scare on the cough medicine front. Apparently Children’s cough syrup is being whisked off the shelves in stores and if you have some in the medicine cabinet you better due some quick research on it to make sure yours is not the same as the reports say can kill your child at worst and at best doesn’t work anyway... Wow am I the barer of good news this weekend or what? I just have to end on a good note… let me see, how about this: Have you seen some of the costumes there are out there for your child and pet? I have to say back when Jessica was not even a glimmer in mine and Bonnies eyes we had a pet named Tasha she was a English Springer Spaniel (Liver and White) That pore dog was dressed up in the gawl-awfulest Halloween costumes and you could just see the humiliation on the dogs snout. As if to say, get me the hell out of this before I pee on the rug…Good times, good times… I will have to search the picture historic closet and see if I can round some of those up. Other then that it’s closing in on Halloween and hopefully you have a ghoulish weekend. I know it’s not for a few weeks but as many of those Witches In the Mail Boxes I have received over the last week I feel it’s closer then one can even stand. Have a great weekend… A huge hug and an enormous pat frenzy Mart
