I wrote this after meeting Hammerin' Dave for the first time.
"Butterflies Flew"
The first encounter was near perfection,
No expectations, no rejection.
Neither of us were judgemental,
Our paths crossed quite unaccidental.
Your smile, your patience, your gentle touch,
We talked, we laughed, we smiled so much.
I've never felt so alive inside,
No doubts, no fear, no reason to hide.
Mixed emotions filled my heart,
Sadness entered when we had to part.
But the rest, it was all good.
Butterflies flew like I once knew they could.
The stars I mentioned were in your eyes,
Not the ones in the black April skies.
I could get lost in those loving arms,
Your humor, your voice, all your charms.
I wish I could see you again tonight,
Being near you would make it all alright.
I can't wait for that first sweet kiss,
For In my heart... It's you I miss!
