I have several friends,
Who are as flamboyant and open as anyone else.
Still, there are the people that choose to stay away,
Be on their own,
Surround themselves with walls.
I've always wondered why?
Why put walls up?
To keep people away from them,
Because they're too afraid of being hurt?
To protect themselves from heartbreak?
Or is it possible that these are not walls of cowards?
That these people are actually just curious,
To see who is willing to try and tear them down?
I have several friends who would build walls around them,
And they would tell me,
that it was fear ofbeing hurt,
by a relationship or a friend.
i have always looked down on that,
simply because i see someone new,
and i choose to let them in,
until they have hurt me.
when that day comes,
i wont lie,
i lose trust in that person,
but i wont walk away from them.
I never realized until just now,
that "I" build walls,
only to see who is willing to try and tear them down.
so for those who read this,
ask yourself,
"Am i willing to let those in,
who can hurt me,
just to see if they are willing to try and get me back,
once they have hurt me?"
for those who dare to break down your walls,
