AnotherEmptyHead's blog: "Breaking the blog cherry"

Well, the turkey has been carved, the family has come to eat and run away before the dishes can be put in the sink, and everyone is stuffed...kind of like the turkey. Anyway, dinner is over, dessert will have to wait(the pie didn't make to the oven in time), and now I sit ready to take a nap. That is what we're supposed to do today, right? For those who may not know, we've had a run of bad luck around here lately. Mandy got into an accident a week ago, and the car is shot. It's repairable, but will cost way too much for me to do. So now we do without, until I can work out a new car. This also interfered with the possibility of a better job, as it is too far to walk to. As I fight off the traditional nap, I can't help but think about the things I should be thankful for. That is what we're supposed to do today, right? Mandy was not injured at all in the accident, and I am VERY thankful for that. My kids are here and healthy and happy and full, and I'm thankful for that. My current job is close enough to get to on foot, so I can stay employed, and as displeased as I am with how this career turn has turned out, I'm thankful that I have a job, especially now with the impending bills coming. I have a home to come to every night, and there are always the small things that we take for granted, like warm clothes, good shoes, etc. to be glad to have. Makes things good, and that is what we're supposed to do today, right? I guess my point in this little post-turkey holiday rant is that I'm thankful for the things I have, and I'm not going to think about the things I don't have. Perhaps I should do that every day. That is sometimes very hard. For now, I'll start by being thankful today. That is what we're supposed to do today, right? Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Finally! after months of looking, wishing, waiting, wanting, complaining, oh.....sorry. Anyway, I finally got a new guitar! And an amp! I am giddy with excitement! I haven't heard the sound of an electric guitar in so long, it actually made my ears ring a little. Fender amps are the best! No matter how small, they can scream out tones like a half-stack without even cranking the knobs full on. I have alot of my own music, and after so long playing on an acoustic it sounds like totally new stuff on this axe. A Squire (Fender, but cheaper) Stratocaster with Obey graphics, and a Fender Frontman 25w amp. Now I need to go back to the songs I have learned over the past few months and work on them some more because this guitar has a little bit of a longer neck. The acoustic was a short scale, so it's just a matter of getting used to a true guitar. Won't take long. Especially since I have a very hard time putting it down. Of course, I was able to put it down long enough to blog. But it's early in the morning, and I do have neighbors.

Soooooo tired. Mandy has been sick, so we've been up all night. And now all day. I cannot wait to get to bed and sleep! One good thing today, though, is the possibility of a new job. I had an interview that went incredibly well, and hopefully I can start before the end of October! Better environment, better pay, etc. Longer hours, but that's okay. The real plus is the opportunity to learn more about retail business and get closer to my real goal....dreamer that I am...owning my own guitar store. I know, not the most ambitious guy, right? But, I love what I love, and I would love to offer a little more selection around here. Well, I'm rambling, which I tend to do when sleep deprived. Enough already! Stop typing! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Okay, relax. I mean it's my first time writing a blog. Ever. Yes, really. I was dragged into the 21st century by my wife. I don't know, I never think I have anything interesting to write about, so why bore cyberspace? I guess anything would do. After all, I wrote this babbling nonsense, and you did read it, right? Hmmmm...not so bad after all.
