Bounty Hunting 101

Bounty Hunting 101

First thing to know is that winning the fights are not the name of the bounty hunting game. You PREFER to lose each fight! You don't have to do the MOST damage to win the bounty, you have to do the LAST damage. It is important to stay as low level as possible for as long as possible so you can fortify yourself for the next level. Each time you win a fight, that makes you 1 or 2 points closer to the next level.

You will want to get your usable mobbies up to level and equip yourself with the best offensive equipment that you can buy. If you find that you are winning too often, you can either aim for only larger bounties or decrease your armor/vehicles (though this will make your attack a little bit weaker).

There'€™s no good reason for a bounty hunter to spend money on defensive equipment. Winning when someone attacks you is doubly pointless—not only does it add to your experience and eventually make you level up, but there’s no way that you can collect a bounty when YOU are the one who was attacked. In short, a bounty hunter wants good offense and the worst possible defense stats.

Another difference between a traditional hunter and a bounty hunter is how you apply your skill points that you get each time you level and as loot with some mission completions.

For levels 10-20, you will put them to stamina and health.

**Stamina allows you to continue to fight. There'€™s nothing like running out of stamina for stopping a hunter in their tracks and it usually happens when a big juicy bounty is up! So we want to make stamina high enough so we don't run out before we are done playing!!

**Health. This one is tricky. As a hunter you want yours high. The amount of damage you do is partly dependent on how high your health is. If your health is high and you see yourself doing a lot of damage, then the mobster you are attacking has high health as well. If you find that your are doing very little damage, this is because the mobster you are attacking has low health. The downside to high health is that you have to heal more often and it is more expensive to heal. The plus side is that you will do more damage and get more bounties so you can easily support this hospital cost.

An example of applying Skill Points:

1) Starting pt
2) 5 pts stam (stam 8)
3) 5 pts stam (stam 13)
4) 5 pts stam (stam 18)
5) 100 pts health (health 200, stam 18)
6) 100 pts health (health 300, stam 18)
7) 100 pts health (health 400, stam 18)
8) 100 pts health (health 500, stam 18)
9) 5 pts stam (health 500, stam 23)
10) 100 pts health (health 600, stam 23) (sometime before lvl 10 you will finish a diam msn or two and get additional pts, these can be put into health/stam/atk as you wish)
11) 5 pts stam (health 600, stam 28)
12) 100 pts health (health 700, stam 28)
13) 100 pts health (health 800, stam 28)
14) 100 pts health (health 900, stam 28)
15) 100 pts health (health 1000, stam 28)
16) 5 pts stam, (health 1000, stam 33)
17) From here it depends on how you want to build, can keep pumping health/stam or can put pts into atk.
18) Put pts where you feel you need them. (atk/stam/health)
19) Put pts where you feel you need them. (atk/stam/health)
20) Now you want to start pumping pts into energy to get your energy to 300 at least to do missions. Then go back to atk/stam/health

For levels 30-40 you want to concentrate your points between health and attack.

Now that you are set up, how do you bounty hunt you ask?!

First you need a good rendered or refresh speed, to make sure you will see the bounties come up every bit as fast as every one else. If you go to the hitlist screen and scroll to the very very bottom, you will see something that looks like: home.php' rendered in 0.1601 seconds on machine '230'. The lower the rendered number, the faster the screen is refreshing. If you get a crappy render time, the way to change this is to click your Mafia home, then click hitlist again and check the speed. Continue to do this until you feel you have about as good as there is at the moment. If you find that you aren't seeing much or not getting many hits in, you might change again even if the rendered number is not lower than the one you were just on. Silent feels that the machines in the 180 range are pretty good.

You want to be sure you have some money banked as you can only heal with "laundered" money. So if you see the message "you can't afford to heal", you need more money in your bank. You want to choose the hossie that is most appropriate for your health size. IE. if your health is 200, your choices are the 100 point hospital or the 25. You want the highest hossie you can use so that you can heal quickly and keep moving. If that hospital is closed, then you have to make a different choice. To see your choices, if you go to hospital and then click "change hospital" it shows you them all, which are open, which are password protected and which are closed. Sometimes you can get the password if you ask nicely and they know you aren'€™t riding the hitlist.

There are a couple of quick keys: Ctrl/shift/L takes you to the hitlist. Ctrl/shift/H heals you without having to leave the hitlist. Hold down Ctrl/Shift then HHH to get maximum quick health. (This works on computers, but on touch-screen tablets and smartphones, not so much.)

When looking at the hitlist, it will show who is listed, by whom, how long ago, and for how much. They start out with the button saying "wait". Bounties can show ready to attack right away or can take up to 5 minutes. So you watch the list. Sometimes it will turn yellow and say "chance". If you strike at that time, there is a "chance" that you will get first strike. Or there is a chance it will say you must wait and you have wasted a few valuable seconds where someone else might get hits in instead. Its up to you, as you work the list you will find what is comfortable for you. If it says fight, click it and look up top immediately, it will say you are fighting, someone else is fighting them or they are no longer on the list. If you get a hit in or someone else is fighting them, you just click that fight button like crazy fast because you want to be the next one to get a shot in. You can't win the bounty if you don't get shots in. So don't get frustrated if you don't get the bounty, getting shots in means you are doing it correctly. It is a very fast paced play portion of this game. When it says they are no longer on the list, check your health, and move on to the next target.

If you see that someone is on the list for more than five minutes and you have hit them a bunch of times but they are not dying, they most likely are doing that on purpose. They buy health to stay on the list, either to be annoying, to get their ‘win’ statistics up, or to get their bulletproof badge (when you manage to stay on the list and not die for 1 hour). So you might just determine that is what they are doing and move on to a more ready to die mobster. Once they are on over an hour, they usually drop, at 1 hours 10 minutes, they will no longer be able to buy health.

If you get a bounty that is more than $1,000,000,000, copy it from the feed and put it in the bosses shoutbox (chat), we post those on our turf board and have a friendly contest every week and we can also tell you how much you have earned for the week!! It is about besting yourself, not necessarily other people.

Some people like to have multiple windows open when they play. Some do one with the hitlist and one with the turf room so they can keep track of everything going on. Some like to have multiple hitlist screens open to see which ones are refreshing (targets show up) faster. That part is entirely up to you! You can even experiment with different browsers (like Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc.), you might find that one browser works better than another for the hitlist.

IMPORTANT:
The reason you are bounty hunting is for the money honey!! You need to invest in property in stacks (quantities) of 10. Each time you make a purchase you can buy 1-10 at a time. However many you buy, once the purchase is made, the price goes up!! Best to get the most you can at the sale price. So if you get a bodacious bounty, be sure to look and see what the best property you can buy in quantities of 10!! (See Spreadsheet/instructions for more investment help)

Mob

Your Mob:

These are not a collection of your closest friends and neighbors. You don't need to know the mobster and their level doesn't matter in the game. A level 1 mobster helps you exactly the same as a level 1000 mobster as a member of your mob.

You get 5 mobbies per level to help you when you attack or defend. Your mob size in on the same line on your mafia tool bar as your rating (some people call this level). So for example, at level 1: 1 x 5=5 mobbies, at level 2: 2 x 5=10. This math continues rating x5 until you reach level 150 and then your maximum usuable mob is 750. You have the capacity to hold 1000 mbbies. This is very helpful so that you don't have to scramble every time you level to find five more. Just understand, usuable mob is 5 X your current rating. Any extras you have are waiting until you are big enough to use them.

This also allows plenty of room to have our turf as well as family/allies/friendly turf members in our mob. Once you have someone in your mob, if you were to go to their mobster, the backhand/hitlist/fight buttons are all removed. This helps prevent accidental attacks on those that have our back. So while any mobster will do to fill in our mob, you can see how much more effective it would be if these mobbies were the ones in our turf/family/allies/friendlies.

This does not eliminate your ability to kill them on the hitlist. Where as random or general attacks off the attack list on the members of the before mention turfs are prohibited, the hitlist is free game. It doesn't violate a turf rule or an allied agreement to kill someone on the hitlist. The way we figure it, someone has marked you for death and paid that bounty, you are going to die and someone is going to get that money and we would much prefer our allies to get it than our enemies!! If someone on in our turf gets listed, go after their bounty and bring it home!! lol

How to mob up:
If you hover over any mobster, a screen opens up that lets us see a little more about this mobster such as their rating, their rank in the turf, and where they are turfed. It also will have one of two red buttons available to click. One says "send mob request" (click this) the other will say "kick out of mob!" dont click this one, that means they are already in your mob! They added the Mob All button at the top of the turf, so it is very easy to send a request to the whole turf at once then be patient as people come on line they will add you if they have room. To hit that button every day is not going to get you more mob or get you mob quicker.

If you look at the turf board, click the yellow [] and it will open up our whole board. Each of the family/allied/friendly turfs are listed (might want to write these down and keep them close if you are going to be attacking off the attack list) in the private section. Each name is a link that will take you to that turf. DO NOT drop a line in the room asking for them to add you. This is lazy and if I see I will list you myself!!!

So you can send out the mob requests individually to each person in those allied turfs. This is boring, absolutely, but it is quick and it is easy. You can add a good portion of our allies in a 30 minute time frame.

If you can contact someone in one of those turfs that is an Lt or Above, they will often let you come in and hit the mob all button. Don't assume they will let you, this is a pre-arrangement. If they are available and agree, you would cancel out of our turf, request to theirs, hit the mob all button, thank them nicely, cancel out of their turf and come back to ours to request again.

Another place to get mob if you aren't getting enough or getting them quickly enough is to pop into the e-turf and hit the mob all button. You do not have to get permission to do that, you just have to be accepted into the turf.

RULES:

1.  Can not use GOD or DA members for answers.

2.  All answers to be sent to  Trina by private fu-msg, she will keep track of everyones progress.

3.  Answers that require someone outside the turf to do something in GOD meetingroom can be verified by Miss T or Silent.

4.  Make every effort to find your OWN person to answer for interactive answers, do not use someone elses answer person to answer for you            also.

5.  This is meant to be fun, so don't do things to piss people off. You would be surprised what    people will do for you for fun if you just explain          what you need.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT ANSWERS NOT BE DROPPED IN THE TURF CHAT AS SOMETIMES THERE IS ONLY ONE ANSWERAND YOU DONT WANT TO GIVE SOMEONE ELSE THE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR ANSWER!!

New changes

Two changes

Loss of Properties: The leading change is as follows: A hit listed player that has withstanding enough to not mind some cash flow interval loss will have a new penalty applied: 0.25% of their hourly income seized away in the form of territory losses that are roughly equal to 0.25% of their income. A qualifying player that has $1B/hr income (before upkeep) would effectively lose $2.5M worth of territories. There were some stipulations as to re-couping cases of negative cash flow by forfeiting non-exclusive equipment, but there's too much of a mix of regular and exclusive equipment for this to be applied in an even way. That's the basic description of what's likely to happen. Careful attention to be paid to 'withstanding' and 'qualifying' as there are deductions as yet to be determined as to what players these penalties would be applied ..

Looks like: MsMeanAss was just KILLED by Sniper, who collected a bounty of $421,171,417,454! Seized territory: 12xDiamond Mine 2 mins ago

(1) New players enjoy accelerated cash flow as it increases to the hour over 21 days.
this piece works like the first day of your new toons life you get cf every 4 minutes, the next day every 8 minutes, third day every 12 minutes and so on an so fourth and on day 21 it is up to 1 hour like every one else

General Rules

LET GOD SORT 'EM OUT TURF BYLAWS (PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW)

Soldier Spots:

To keep your soldier spot, you  must be active. That doesn’t mean bringing in huge bounties or running missions. This means you that you log in regularly to check on your mobsters, make sure they are alive and well, invest their money as appropriate to increase cashflow and generally try to improve your mobster. If you don’t log in for three days, you will lose it.

We don't expect you to have the biggest and baddest mobster EVER but we do expect you to at least be fully mobbed. That is 5x your current level (ie: level 10, your usuable mob is 10x5=50, level 20 x 5= 100 and so on), usuable mob maxes out at 750 usable mobbies at level 150. Don't drop links in turfs and expect them to add you; you could just get listed for your troubles. Instead look on our turf board, each of the allies listed is a link, go to their turfs and send out mob requests. You usually get a hefty amount of the accepted within 24 hours. Also our turf, we have quite a few members that have room and they would gladly accept if you sent them a request.

Lieutenants in our turf are to be respected.

They have earned those spots by working hard; keeping the best interest of the turf above all, helping our turf be strong and our members enjoy the game.  This doesn’t mean they are always right but there are ways to handle a difference of opinion that doesn’t involve potty mouth and disrespect. Lts should step down if they don’t have the time to dedicate to regular play and defending the turf.

Visitors:

Don’t trash talk our visitors. They are there for a reason and probably not to swap insults (though that does happen sometimes!) Do not attack them because they happen to be in your range and you are “curious”.  If an LT or above tells you to cease fire while they are negotiating or what not, then please do it.  If you don’t have something positive to contribute to the outside world then stay private. You can trash talk them all you want in private in our turf.  If you are asked to stop talking to them, just do it. It doesn’t have to be a well explained and sugar coated request because we are all MOBSTERS!

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Rules of Engagement:
A. One attack on anyone in a turf is expected.
B. Three attacks on anyone in a turf is acceptable.
C. Four attacks on a single turf member within an hour's time frame or hitting multiple mobsters in the same turf is considered provocative and retaliation should be expected.
D. Unaffiliated mobsters and unprotected turfs with less than 20 mobsters are fair game. Hit them as often as you like.  Just be sure you aren’t messing with some power house turf that limits their size on purpose. Know your target. It is polite to accept their mob request if they send one but not required. Don't complain if they list you for milking.

Rules of Retaliation:
A. Retaliation against mobsters who are members of 75+ turfs need to be approved by the Boss or the Underboss. Provoking these turfs in any way is prohibited.
B. Backhands are inflammatory and basically serve three purposes.

One is if you get your ass whooped and there is nothing you can do about it, one might backhand a bunch of times out of frustration. We like to call these “Temper Tantrums”. Back hands do not need to be addressed unless they are excessive so don’t get all jacked up about it. You have only lost a few points of health.

Two is as a warning that perhaps you are hitting an ally. Just something to catch your attention. If an Lt or above backhands you in our turf, they are trying to get your attention, please come to the meeting room and find out why.

Three as a way to kill a mobster (if you have scrubs) without spending all your money!

C. We have multiple members that monitor the feed every day though out the day monitoring for over hitting, friendly fire (hitting an allie) in either direction, and just generally watching out for our family. We will be retaliating on your behalf. You might want to mention that you were over hit before you address it yourself because often we have already taken care of it for you.

If we find you are retaliating on your own without asking what’s up, we will determine that you don’t want our help in defending you and you will take care of it yourself when you get back on line. Double retaliation isn’t cool.

This game is about Mafia Wars.  That is what we signed up for. This means that sometimes we have skirmishes or issues with other turfs. Sometimes related to something that you did, or maybe something another person in our turf did. Sometimes you may be collateral damage on one of these skirmishes.  This is also why it is important to ask if you saw that you got raped while you were gone. If we get into a nasty fight with someone and we resolve it then you come on and retaliate based on what you are seeing in your feed, you can stir it all up again and get your teammates killed. That is not optimal.

D. Hitlisting is prohibited unless performed by and Lieutenant of above. If you feel someone is a candidate for hitlisting or you want to hitlist someone please discuss this with an Lt or above. Backhands as  individual retaliation should be performed by an Lt or above as well.

IF you see a turfie being overhit and have a mobster in the attackers level range, attack the attacker. Doesn't matter if you win or lose! Winning is nice but suppressing them so they can’t hit our players is effective retaliation as well.

If you feel you your mobster is struggling to defend themselves or isn’t coming along as you hoped, talk to Trina and together you can look at what you are doing and see if there are solutions.
