Now any ordinary person with $100 can be famous for an hr. And I guess if they end up with lots of friends and fans, they get more attention later on too. Each time they post a picture, or blog, or whatever, there will be more people that see that, and more people who may rate it, and comment on it. Maybe all the positive comments will boost these people's self-esteme about how they look enough for them to leave their house and actually interact with real people. Maybe this site can do some good in the world. Or maybe it's simply taking advantage of lonely people desperate for attention.
